If you weren't actually a student? Has anyone done so? Asking for a friend obviously Grin

Absolutely! But this is mumsnet so you will probably be told you’re stealing the food out of poor impoverished Jeff Bezo’s mouth

Yes.

My friend has also done this.

My friend has not been a student for a few years now but the subscription continues.

I did when I used to work there.

Ain't even bothered doing it WITH my ac uk email address because I just can't be arsed to be honest. About the only thing I've gone for in terms of student discounts is cheap Spotify.

But if you're more motivated than I am - hell go for it.

I know, there's some really fun threads on here at the mo about tweaking things to get a 'perk' but I'd consider it money saved that could be spent in tax paying companies.

Of course, I’d be getting all the student discounts I could!

How much discount do you get? Asking for a friend, obviously.

@bluebadgehelp101 well it's free for 6 months then half price so you save about £70 in the first year.

Yes I have a work email address like this and amazon basically emailed me to give me a student prime account. I cancelled it when I saw how much money Amazon were making off of covid and how poorly they treated their employees. I won't use them now.

I did it with my work address and had it for a couple of years but then they said I had to provide proof of my student status for it to continue.

I forgot staff would have similar accounts. Amazon must be okay with this. I switched my account to prime when I became a student and will try and keep as long as possible!

I have to provide proof I’m a student so I don’t think that would work.

You might want to check you get the same benefits as a full membership. I know when I had student prime I didn't get everything.

You don't with the free 6 months but they're not features that would be missed.

It demands proof of studentsship after 3 years.

I didn't realise Spotify has a student discount though......

My friend did this for as long as she could Grin - back to full price now though. Same with Spotify. Though it looks like Spotify have changed how they verify, says you have to login to your uni portal - this will normally flag you up as staff. My friend suggests verifying by email, if that's an option...

Yes. I did it for 4 years and when that ran out earlier this year by husband signed up. It is one of the few perks you get in HE.

You can only get it for a maximum of 4 years.
