There is a man sitting on my windowsill

Old cottage, opens straight out on to the road. The sills are fairly low and deep. House is clearly occupied. I'm trying to get DD to nap. He's plonked his arse on the ledge, is leaning right back against the window so he can have a loud conversation with friend.

This is a bit fucking rude, no?

YANBU. Can you go have a word?

He probably hasn’t even realised he’s done it

Knock on the window. Hopefully he will apologise and move on

If he doesn’t, oops you was watering your flowers and missed the pot

It's very disconcerting, his back is pressed right against my window and his friend is looking right in as he talks! Bloody rude.

I shall tap the window

Might be an idea to put some pot plants on the window sill to stop this happening again.

If he’s leaning against it i’d open it...

Is he ok? My husband has COPD and sometimes has to sit down urgently if he gets very breathless when walking. Just a thought...

Please report back when he's gone - else we'll have to send out a rescue squad!!

I'm not sure someone having significant breathing problems would be chatting loudly with a friend.

I’d be opening the window and telling them where to go.

You need a dog OP, mine would have scared the shit out of him the second he sat down Grin

He's absolutely ok. I tapped on the window and he turned around and gave me the fingers.

DH then opened the door and told him to fuck off unless he wanted to start paying us rent Grin

I suppose this is why so many old houses in the city I live in have rows of ancient iron spikes along the windowsills!

Report
TicketToTheWrongFilm · 11/07/2020 14:32

Cross-posted, I can't believe someone would be so aggressive! Horrible.

Well that's bizarre, I was sat on a windowsill chatted to my friend when someone inside tapped on the window and interrupted us.

Do you think that's a bit rude?

I think I shall give her the... Oh dear I'd better stop there it might be construed as being rude, no? Wink

Your DH got it right! Some people are just rude.

We used to get this. Terrace house straight onto the pavement. The used car dealership up the road used to park outside ours and people would lean against our window while negotiating.
I got a hard stare when I asked him to stop so I reported him for misuse of a residents parking permit.

This saddens me OP. Could you not have invited him in and given him a cream tea and asked if he wanted to stay the weekend for a threesome? #bekind.
