What took them so long?

Hopefully they have been taking their time to build a bombproof case against her.

I agree it's about time. Wonder if anyone associated with her is getting hot around the collar?

This is the best news I’ve heard in ages. I hope they keep a very close eye on her in custody.

Haut · 02/07/2020 15:05

It'll be interesting to see who else she drops in it.

Throw away the key, absolute horror of a woman.

I wonder if Airmiles Andy is sweating now ?

SimonJT · 02/07/2020 15:07

I’m genuinely surprised by this, I didn’t think it would actually happen. Hopefully this will enable prosecutions to be brought.

Report
PolaDeVeboise · 02/07/2020 15:10

Hmmm, well let's hope the ahem 'suicide watch' is slightly more efficient this time.

@DGRossetti I think that all Andrew has to do to avoid arrest is sit tight and not leave U.K./Europe, but I’m not totally sure.

Do you think the US would really make an application to extradite him? I can’t see that Britain would ever allow an extradition to go through, in any case.

Do you not think so? How come? Genuine question btw and not me being goady.

Surely the royals cannot be above reproach especially as this is such a high profile case and Andy has been strongly implicated.

Mind you, Virginia has said she slept with him when she was 17 and this was in the UK so I'm not sure what if anything they can convict him on in regards to her, sadly.

He's a dirty bastard so I've no doubt she wasn't the only one.

I'm thinking this vile bitch will sing like a bird in order to garner a deal with the FBI. Andrew should be very, very nervous.

It may not be that easy though.

Firstly he's spun a complete cock and bull story about "helping" the FBI, to which their public response ended with the refrain "pants on fire".

Secondly, it's not a great look for team Brenda if one of the senior Royals in "the firm" is forever condemned to opening fetes by Zoom because they are afraid of being extradited to the US.

And finally, if finds himself in transit in the US - he's fair game since they changed the immigration system.

And given the tree that GM fell from, I would be amazed if she hadn't something with which to bargain.

Everyone should be equal and nobody should be above the law, but in practice I don’t believe it would happen.

I can’t imagine a British Royal being extradited for a serious crime.

This kind of thing goes in all the time. Money and connections buy you out of things even when you aren’t a British Royal.

I recently watched the Jeffrey Epstein programme on netflix and wondered how it was that she hadn't yet been arrested and somehow nobody seemed to be able to find her. it will be interesting to see what happens next.

One thing to remember is that nobody is going to stand in support of Ghislaine. She is a total pariah and no one would get near her with a barge poll. I think the FBI is going to use her as the ultimate weapon to catch some very big fish.

I think if she was trafficked then it’s an offence whether she was underage or not.

Trafficking ? Rape ?

From vague memory senior Royals are considered diplomats for the purposes of the Vienna convention (as nomonal Head of State, the Queen is always exempt from foreign laws when she visits). But the problem with having to rely on that is it simply brings very unwelcome spotlight onto the Monarchy and teh Monarch in particular.

However, if it brings an end to the ludicrous institution of the monarchy, it's no bad thing.
