Look inside their house!

The husband and wife team, Mark and Patricia McCloskey, are both personal injury lawyers. They were in the news a couple of days ago because they held guns up to a group of protesters in Missouri.
This is the inside of their house/mansion

Errrrm, yes. That's some God-awful individual decor.

I quite like it. I'd almost expect Colin Firth to come round the corner at any moment.

I find it difficult to believe they have a need for a 16 seat dining table. They surely can't have that many friends with their behaviour?

I bet in a house that size they have a few normal rooms they actually live in. They don't sit there and watch tv of an evening. They have a plain magnolia living room with a battered old sofa somewhere.
I think it's gorgeous but I wouldn't want to live in it

Brilliant example of 'money doesn't buy style'

Looks like 'Goldie Lookin Chain' won the lottery. Wink

Looks like a museum. I couldn't live in it. Clearly delusions of grandeur.

Looks like they've gone on holiday to Italy, decided that they'd like a Palazzo and then had one made for them. It looks so impersonal and fake but if that floats their boat then more cool them, I suppose!

A real Italian Palazzo would have had a militia of mercenary soldiers from across Europe though, so they kind of fell down on that front. A walmart automatic rifle and a flashy handgun don't really fit with the aesthetic.

Evidence that money cannot buy you class

Which era exactly is it trying to be? There's mediaeval, baroque, everything all jumbled up. Confused

Money can't buy taste or class (as per their behaviour)

They’ve restored it - it’s from the 1890’s and was covered in carbon.

Article about the renovation of the house

@BattyBettysBiccy

That's a pheasant, although I don't get why it's ontop of a pile of what looks like bread 😂 pheasant sandwich?

I don't mind it too much, but it doesn't look like a home. More like a museum.

It’s...quite comical! A bit downtown abbey, a bit Bond villain, a bit Modge podge on the antiques!

I wouldn’t want to live there, but that’s pretty incredible and not what I expected! I was imagining something much more modern and bling.

I don't understand why anyone wanted to create a Renaissance palazzo in the US in 1890, let alone doing it again now. It was a purely artificial construct both times round. It looks dreadfully uncomfortable; I hope for their sake that they do indeed have a magnolia sitting room with comfy sofas somewhere, to say nothing of modern bathrooms.

I store our stuffed pheasant atop a pile of bread rolls. Quite frankly I'm not sure where else you'd put it? I suppose you could have it straddle the gravy boat but then where would you keep the stuffed aardvark?

What surprises me is that the house seems to be right beside the street . No drive way or gates. If I had that amount of money ( and those abhorrent views) I would want a bit of privacy.

They looked like those 'wicker man' neighbours from the purge! Absolutely horrible.
