Supply teacher wages help

Hello, I'm not sure I'm on the right board. I work as a supply teacher and have done for the last 7 years. I've never been short of work and earned a good salary. I also have a point 2 contract (1 day) which is temporary until August 2020. One of my regular schools asked me to do this one day a week from Sept 19 to August 20 as a regular day. I also work at other schools throughout the week. The same 3 or 4 schools book me regularly but with no pattern if you know what I mean. I just fill in tinesheets at the schools I visit.

Does anybody know who I contact about my wages? Has anyone any advice please? I will get paid for my one day a week but is there any chance I will get paid 80% of my average earnings? I don't even know who to contact. I rang the number on my payslip this morning but they had no idea about supply teachers

I earn between £1500-£1800 per month during term time and pay national insurance, tax and into my pension every month.

Any advice would be most welcome.

You can be furloughed I believe. Google a teaching agency called Apollo. Something came up on my Facebook newsfeed from them

The unions have been looking into supply wages. Speak to your union for correct and up-to-date advice.

I had a call from my agency this morning. What I was told was that they are furloughing their staff and then passing the details on to HMRC.

He said the week they were basing the 80% pay on was the week ending 28 February. I work day to day though so it may be different for long term supply.

They will then wait for confirmation of eligibility for each individual from HMRC and then pass the full payment on to agency workers once they've received it, he had no idea when this would be.

This is what I've been told so far and assume it's accurate but until I have the money in the bank I'm not counting on anything

Sorry I've just reread your post. Do you work directly with the schools?

My agency said that they're negotiating with schools directly to ensure that their long term supply still get paid and that some schools have agreed and others are making more of a fuss.

I would think you'd need to contact the schools directly in this case, certainly for the long term part.

No one seems to be able to help me. Union weren't much help tbh. Surely I can't be expected to survive on a quarter of my wage? I pay tax and national insurance and have done for 31 years!!! Thanks for any input. I guess I'm lost in a loophole?
