Just a bit of lighthearted chat.
Today I got to leave work a bit earlier , got to hear our little girls heart beat (almost 18 weeks, due August with our first), DH didn’t get called out to emergency nurse shift , and the sun shone all day.

What was something (or more than one!) that made you feel good or somewhat happier today?
Oh and our street clapped for us NHS workers which made my husband and I feel very much appreciated 💕

Congratulations! And glad the clap made you feel appreciated.

I made bath salts today - just Epsom salts and essential oils - they smell lovely and I had a very relaxing bath with them.

I weeded the entire garden, it was desperate and then sat in the sun for half hour enjoying the view of no weeds peeking up into my patio.

My husband left me a note on the bed saying ‘i love you forever xxx’. I’ve been feeling a bit out of touch with him lately so it really made me smile when I got into bed ❤️

I made my 3yo DD a sort of mud kitchen in the back garden and she played on her own for a good hour. That never happens and it gave me some much needed downtime as it's just her and I until the lockdown is done. It was lovely to sit in the sun 😁

18 month old DS stood up unsupported and took a tiny hesitant step for the first time! Best thing was that both DH and I were there to see it!

I had a hot bath in peace and read a new book.

My 3yo dd finally believed me today when I told her again my work laptop was not a toy.

Dh took dd outside to play and she painted a cat which actually looked like a cat, with no help.

It’s DS’s birthday. We built him a gym for his hobby that’s been months in the making for a surprise. He was ecstatic. It made for a lovely day away from recent events.

I made it out to the garden - been unwell and not left the house at all in a week. Had a lovely hour or two on a bench in the sunshine :)

Also had a really funny conversation with a couple of people - not friends exactly as I’ve been working with them but it was more like a level playing field and I laughed so hard at times! Really made my day :)

I took a break from my computer (working from home), and played with my dog in the garden. Running about in fresh air with someone who adores you - great for the mental health

I properly scrubbed the kitchen cupboards and polished the handles after putting it off for months. It makes me smile every time I go in there (sad I know Grin)

DD is 3 years old and rode her bike with pedals without any help for the first time today! Watching her cycle around in the sun was sheer bliss!

My sons birthday today. As we're all either homeschooling or working from home, we had a little bbq lunch in the sunshine in our garden to make up for the fact he hasn't been able to see anyone.

We found bread in the freezer. If you'd heard us you would have thought we'd won the lottery. Grin

I got out for a long ride in the sun after my lovely friend sorted out my bike for me.

And my gorgeous partner FaceTimed me and made me laugh like I haven't all week.

It's been a good day.

My youngest DS woke up ridiculously early this morning, I took him downstairs so we didn't wake up my other DS. We were playing with my camera, making videos and he said his name. It made my heart swell.

Older DS had a play date with one of his nursery friends and it was lovely seeing him so happy to see his friend again.

DH and I seem to be getting closer, when I worried that isolation might be the final nail in our coffin.

Managed to have both kids in bed by 7:45!

A friend was passing by my house this morning so I sat on the doorstep sipping tea and eating my cereal chatting to her as she stood at the gate.

I had a jolly chat with my colleagues on skype and we swapped baby pictures. One isn't from our team but we invited her to join us because we know she is at medically risk and has been isolated and has mental health issues. She was cheered by being invited to join us.

I played backgammon with my son at lunchtime and it was noisy and competitive.

I had a lovely walk in the woods after I finished my work today - the sunshine and birds were lovely.

I spoke to my Dad and calmed his fretting and anxiety.

I had pizza and watched a movie with my late teen kids this evening - The Social Network - which we really enjoyed.

I had a skype date with one of my oldest mates after that.

Sorry to derail but @BillyAndTheSillies I very much hope you’re not in the UK having a play date right now?!

We went for a walk this evening. DS(11) and I walked a bit further than DH and DD(8). As we were heading home it got dark enough to see Venues and lots of the stars, we found Orion’s Belt and then loads of things we think we recognised.

When I phoned my mum tonight she was crying. By the time we finished our conversation she was laughing. I love to hear her laugh.
