Bosch fridge/freezer -

I need to buy a new fridge/freezer and want to order it for delivery ASAP

I was eyeing up the Bosch range as I like the idea of the VitaFresh Drawers

I need a fridge that really keeps veg fresh. And wondered if this was as good as they made out?!

But I’ve seen a haier thst I like the look of, but the veg drawer is pretty ‘ordinary’. However I like the colour better and I like the freezer drawers that aren’t behind a door.

But if the Bosch really does what it says I’d but that.

Can anyone help?

I have something similar to this. I recommend. It's very quiet, large, easy to keep clean and food remains fresh longer.

Well, it sounds great. but my experience of Bosch customer service is not good. We had a Bosch fridge freezer and the door handle fell off after about two months. I contacted Bosch customer service to get them to fit a new one and was told that door handles are 'cosmetic' only and therefore not covered under the guarantee. They would however come and fit a new one at a cost of almost £200. Needless to say, I didn't bother and just used to squeeze my fingers between the seal and the fridge for the Two years I had the fridge. Would never buy another large appliance from them.

@12345kbm. That’s one of the 4 I’m looking at.

Great to know it’s quiet (kitchen is open plan) & is good at keeping food fresh - thanks

Ridiculously quiet. When I first had it, I kept checking that it was working because usually you get a kind of hum with a fridge.

If you buy from JL, you get a two year guarantee. Bosch is also two year but you can add an extended five year warranty as well.

@AmelieTaylor

No. It was a shame because at the time, the fridge freezer was really good. Had I not ended up damaging the seal, I would have kept the fridge a lot longer.

Thank you both.

It’s unusual not to get loads of people weighing in. Maybe I should have put Corona or sex in the title 🤣

As it happens I want to do it this week so I have some grudge/freezer storage. I’ve been ‘making do’ with a very tired under counter fridge as we’re mid renovation & I didn’t want to get the FF until it was finished...but no idea when that will happen now, so might as well plough on with getting it. Although it will be right in the way until part of the kitchen is removed 🙄🙄 still I think I’d regret not having it more 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have this one, it's extremely quiet and, yes it does keep the vegetables very fresh.

Unlike bosch, you can buy an easy to fit beko handle for about £25! They also sent us new freezer drawer fronts when ours broke.

Bought this
BOSCH KGN34XL35G 50 / 50 Fridge Freezer - Stainless Steel
last September , really pleased with it. Huge vegetable draw and it does keep it fresh. Only problem is the door storage is not great and we had to take out a shelve to get milk in.

@Absolutepowercorrupts. Cool kitchen!! I looked at one with the coloured fronts, but none of the colours really worked for us but it’s good to know it’s quiet & does what it says re the veg (it’s essentially the same fridge

@PickAChew. 😁yes, there are advantages!

@bruffin thanks. I discounted that one for those reasons- plus being 50/50 the frudge part starts a bit high for this short arsenal!!🤣

@bruffin. It’s more where the fridge starts (meets the freezer) I found the veg drawers a bit high to use comfortably, for me. I’m 4’11&a1/2 on a big hair day 🤣 I’m not too bothered about the top shelf that could just have the ‘rarely Used’ stuff on it, but I couldn’t reach it in the shop not to get anything, I could just about push something in to it, but as I said, not the main issue.

My Bosch fridge freezer came with the house! I moved in here in 2007 & I estimate from what the previous owner said that the Bosch must be about 25 years old.
So they are reliable!!

@Terralee. I think it might be cheaper just to buy the FF🤣

I don’t think the build any appliances to last these days.

I have signed up for the AO care plan. No idea if it’s worth the paper it’s written on, but it £7 pm & I have 14 days to cancel it

This is my new friend.

Thank you all.

She arrived and she’s beautiful - wish I’d got her ages ago 🙄until the kitchen is done she’s taking up rather a lit of room in the small kitchen but 🤷🏻‍♀️

She arrived with a dent in her door, but AO/Bosch have been brilliant,I already have the spare four & just need to phone if/when I want them to put it on.

She’s kept the veg amazing well, I’m astounded at the difference. Her door alarm is great, not too quick and not too annoying & she holds loads!

She’s pretty quiet. She’s had a few louder grumbles, but not many. Although her presence is noted, unlike the old one that is completely silent -completely.

So thank you all for helping me to stop faffing & get it bought!! 🌷

No it’s a complete revelation. I thought my old under counter was doing ‘ok’ just a bit small & very inconvenient!

This has been transformational!
