It fascinates me and thats not to upset everyday folk who are on the journey. They used the same surrogate that carried their little girl that must be just over one year? The poor womans hardly had chance to recover. I know she wasnt forced!

They already have a boy and girl. I dont understand celebs at all. I wonder if it was in the UK or USA? Anyway, Im sure the little one will be very loved thats the main.

I think in the future people will look back and wonder how this went on.

I know its the haves and the have nots.

As long as hierarchies exist, people will take advantage of other people when they can. I don’t mean it in an always sinister way either, more of a shrug and ‘I’m not doing anything wrong and I’m paying, anyway’ attitude.

Is it even allowed in this country after two healthy babies?

MarchDaffs Fri 14-Feb-20 19:55:22

Yes, the number of children the couple already have isn't considered.

(perhaps Ayda can't carry anymore but there does seem to be a rise in celebs using "gestational carriers" and where they lead others will follow)

IMHO it equates to buying a baby, a human life. Feels wrong

Mumto1girl3boys Fri 14-Feb-20 20:14:57

None of anyone business really......

BritneyPeedOnALadybug Fri 14-Feb-20 20:15:07

Do you think it’s a problem for them if the couple (and this couple definitely can) can afford to fly and live temporarily in a country where it is legal before bringing their baby home?

I’m not arguing that it’s wrong, but there are different rules when it comes to cash and status. If you’re rich enough, you can do and pretty much get away with anything.

EachandEveryone Fri 14-Feb-20 20:22:42

Well, its all over the media so its well up for discussion Mum1girl3boys

I think in certain circles it happens now & will happen more in the future becoming, gradually, much more socially acceptable. Currently sometimes a ‘medical’ reason is given which doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny.

TheWordmeister Fri 14-Feb-20 20:27:46

Seems wrong to me. I'd be annoyed if it were a dog or a cat.

dippyeggsandham Fri 14-Feb-20 20:28:21

It doesn’t seem right to me

Deadringer Fri 14-Feb-20 20:36:25

It's the ultimate in entitlement.

HowlsMovingBungalow Fri 14-Feb-20 20:40:37

At least they admit to using a surrogate.

EachandEveryone Fri 14-Feb-20 20:42:43

Its a shame they cant adopt though.

SunshineCake Fri 14-Feb-20 20:47:11

Why should you understand celebs. What is there to understand. Could you be anymore sneery?

Bezalelle Fri 14-Feb-20 20:47:36

Rent-a-womb. It's truly dystopian.

amaryl Fri 14-Feb-20 20:47:54

Wow
If all parties are happy, what’s the issue?

ssd Fri 14-Feb-20 20:49:56

They seem to be a happy couple in a string marriage, what other circumstances would be better for a child to be brought up in?

Good luck to them I say.

ssd Fri 14-Feb-20 20:50:27

Strong, obviously.

sucha Fri 14-Feb-20 20:50:35

The issue is babies shouldn't be bought.
Yes I'm glad they don't try and hide it but I don't agree with it.

BrutusMcDogface Fri 14-Feb-20 20:51:28

So she gave birth to the first two? Maybe she physically couldn’t carry the latter two?

blue25 Fri 14-Feb-20 20:55:41

Women’s wombs shouldn’t be up for rent. The women who put themselves forward for this are often in less than ideal circumstances themselves and sometimes desperate for money.

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons Fri 14-Feb-20 20:56:43

In what other circumstances does society celebrate ripping a baby from the only home it has ever know immediately following birth?

As far as I am aware in every other circumstance we try to keep the mother baby dyad together because it is well established that it is beneficial.

Babies should not be bought & women should not be rented.
