Having steak for tea. DH is having his steak well done, but I hate mine where it's so done that it becomes tough and chewy! Envy

How do you like yours?

As rare as possible. I sear it on both sides and then switch the heat off, let it warm a little and that's it. In summer I often have steak tartare.

Blue...all the way. It’s the only thing I ever send back as it’s always overcooked when I’m in the UK especially...

Rare! And I like dipping my chips in the liquid that comes out

Very rare. The only way.

1 minute on each side (thick fillet steak) then lots of peppercorn sauce.

Rare, unless it's very high quality, in which case blue.

Nearly raw! Shine a torch on it and think about it really hard for a second, and it's done for me!

Pink inside, melt in the mouth, lots of bearnaise and rocket with skinny fries. That is my dinner tonight.

Rare or blue for preference, but some cuts I am grudgingly beginning to admit are fine medium rare.

Oil s and p both sides, heat pan up to smoking and sear, then let rest.

I don't eat meat but DH and DD both like their steak rare. DD is particular likes hers only just cooked.

If it's good quality - the rarer then better

The rare side of medium rare generally but occasionally i do enjoy a slow cooked well done. It only gets tough if they try and do a well done too fast. Needs totally different cooking from a rare

Rare...I'd rather eat it blue than well done.

People who order steak well done don't understand food.

Rare or blue if it's a decent cut 🤤

Blue :) my husband is literally the best at cooking my steak exactly how I like it

Report
Elouera · 14/02/2020 19:34

Growing up, I'd only ever had it black and as overcooked as the sole of a leather shoe!

I now like it medium, if not medium-rare.
