Help- cleaner drank my gin!

Hi all,
I’m new to mumsnet, but would really love some advice!

I’ve just signed up to a cleaning company and had my first clean, which I was thrilled about.
Then I noticed that half of my bottle of pink drink has gone!
I only got the bottle given to me as a gift last week from my sister in law.
My Dh doesn’t drink and I have my two ds in the house.
It was the cleaner definitely!
The company have been awful at getting back to me and sent me a poor email saying she said she didn’t drink it Hmm and was too early in the morning.

I feel really gutted and not sure how to move forward or get some sort of justice!!

How old are your sons?

Greysparkles · 19/01/2020 10:50

How old are your DS's?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 19/01/2020 10:51

I'd be looking at my DC before I started pointing the finger at the cleaner OP.

Have you got any cameras fitted?

Katinski · 19/01/2020 10:51

two sons, you say?

Sadiee88 · 19/01/2020 10:52

That’s hilarious. Sorry. Half a bottle?! I think she would be asleep on the floor lol Grin

BuffaloCauliflower · 19/01/2020 10:53

Why can’t your son’s have drunk the gin? It would be pretty odd for a cleaner to drink half a bottle of gin in the what, two hours she’d be there and for the first time?

MustardScreams · 19/01/2020 10:53

Justice? For half a bottle of gin? If you can afford a cleaner you're not exactly hard up are you? Just buy another bottle and get rid of the cleaner.

NiktheGreek · 19/01/2020 10:54

Course it was the cleaner, couldn't possibly be any other explanation could there?? FFS

Apolloanddaphne · 19/01/2020 10:55

I too need to know the ages of your DS.

ellabars · 19/01/2020 10:55

I doubt it was the cleaner love but either way I'm sorry that you lost some of your gin.

Greysparkles · 19/01/2020 10:56

Why would they only nick half a bottle? Grin surely you would just take the whole thing.

Are you sure you haven't been on the gin OP

SoupDragon · 19/01/2020 10:56

So, you cleaner came once, cleaned to your full satisfaction whilst pissed on half a bottle of your gin...?

Newmumma83 · 19/01/2020 10:56

Sure it’s not the kids? At about 14 I had a sample of my parents alcohol
Cabinet ... I also know of a couple of lads that stole alcohol from parents at our leavers ball at primary school ( 11 years old ) ...

Comefromaway · 19/01/2020 10:56

If the son’s are toddlers then I think you’d know if they drank half a bottle of gin.

But if they are secondary age I’d be keeping a very close eye.

Casino218 · 19/01/2020 10:57

Are you the ops kids? Wondering if you can pin the crime on the cleaner and get away with it?

Newmumma83 · 19/01/2020 10:57

P.s I was your studious kid, did charity work at school , prefect ran the library at secondary school ... no one even thought to ask me

Redglitter · 19/01/2020 10:58

Justice is a bit dramatic. I'd be surprised if it was the cleaner especially if shes from an agency. If nothing else shed have to be fairly knocking it back to drink half a bottle and do her cleaning in the time she was at your house. IF it had been her it would indicate a real drink problem and surely it would be something that the agency would be aware of. Unless your sons are very young I'd be speaking to them first

kayde12 · 19/01/2020 10:58

No not the boys 7 and 13

collywobblescar · 19/01/2020 10:59

I think you need a chat with your 13 year old OP

Geometricprince · 19/01/2020 10:59

It's far more likely to be the 13 year old than the cleaner!

AdobeWanKenobi · 19/01/2020 10:59

No not the boys 7 and 13

THIRTEEN.
There is your answer OP

Yep

BuffaloCauliflower · 19/01/2020 11:00

13 definitely old enough to be nicking your gin, and a far more likely culprit than the cleaner

DoloresTheDonkey · 19/01/2020 11:01

I think I'd be looking at the 13 year old rather than the cleaner.

I was a devilish teen and used to drink the vodka and gin from my parents drinks cabinet at that age.
