Sharks are independent from birth. I always thought their mums took care of them but apparently not. Blush
Anyone else got anything they were surprised to discover.

Sharks are fish and most (if not all) fish are left to fend for themselves from the moment they hatch

I recently found out that "The Cloud" is not a cloud, it's just a load of servers storing data.
I really thought all that information was kind of floating around somewhere, ready to be pulled back to my pc as and when needed. Blush

This is ridiculous but I didn't realise that green red and yellow peppers are all the same but at different stages of ripeness. I thought they were different types like apples are. Blush

I only recently realised that it's not P-interest but pin-terest.

Until the recent terror attack on Fishmongers Hall, I thought narwhals were mythical creatures. Like unicorns.

I can assure they are real, I've seen a live one.

Not always true. There is a strain of green pepper that stays green when ripe.

@MrsJoshNavidi I work in one of the places that store all your data , and I assure they are nothing like a cloud .

When you're crying and your nose runs, that's tears. Not snot. Your tear ducts drain out your eyes and also through your nose.

when baby guinea pigs are born they are independent they do have mums milk but they are born eyes open ready to run about and eat rather than like say rabbits who are born blind and helpless

That’s where the phrase “sharks are born swimming” comes from OP.

I genuinely didn't know that pigs have teeth. My sister and I had such a laugh over my complete silliness, of course they have teeth but I saw a picture of a piglet with human like teeth and my mind was blown! Feel a bit daft about that one.

Some fish eat their offspring given half a chance. I kind of knew this already but was watching A secret life of the Zoo and the keepers had to get the fish 'fry' out of the tank and into another one for them to stand a chance and not get eaten!

Embarrassed to share this! I only found out the other day that when you breathe out normally, your breath is warm but when you blow air out, it is cold. I was mind blown BlushGrin

I found out today (doing a crossword) that coconut water can be used as a substitute for blood plasma - any medics able to confirm this as I'm still sceptical.
