I love those caves!

BillHadersNewWife Fri 13-Dec-19 13:11:59

"Formerly Lord Byron's residence" shock What!? I need it on that basis alone!

HollowTalk Fri 13-Dec-19 13:13:54

Wow - what would £850 buy you in London?!

HowlsMovingBungalow Fri 13-Dec-19 13:14:20

The caves are interesting but the rest is a pretty bloody run of the mill refirb. Very souless.

CuriousaboutSamphire Fri 13-Dec-19 13:14:53

The price is lower than I anticipated too!

CuriousaboutSamphire Fri 13-Dec-19 13:16:17

I was thinking that Howls None of those rooms are human sized. Nothing warm, snug, comfortable. Just open it up, paint it pale and make it look bright!

AppleKatie Fri 13-Dec-19 13:19:06

I think I could manage to live there 😉

TheHootiestChristmasOwl Fri 13-Dec-19 13:19:09

Quite a few properties in the centre of Nottingham are built around the caves.

JoJoSM2 Fri 13-Dec-19 13:20:45

I like the refurb. Looks like quality stuff and neutral. Just looking at some stats for the area - is it very studenty around there?

itcamefrombeckyvardyself Fri 13-Dec-19 13:21:03

Those caves are fabulous. Imagine the parties you could have down there!

babycatcher411 Fri 13-Dec-19 13:24:32

Looks amazing, but in reality what on earth do you do with the cave rooms?! Other than sink a lot of money into heating them if you want them as functional rooms

MollysMummy2010 Fri 13-Dec-19 13:28:45

Wow I love that!

Pinkypie86 Fri 13-Dec-19 13:29:30

Right next to Nottingham Castle - its opposite. It's called The Park.
I've just sent the details to my OH.
We have been looking for 2 years - tad over the budget but, I WANT caves!!!!

kjhkj Fri 13-Dec-19 13:31:04

I know that property well. It used to be student housing and is in the middle of an office area. Handy for town but not the place you'd buy with a family.

kjhkj Fri 13-Dec-19 13:32:26

It isn't in The Park at all pinky. It's on St James street just up from the hotel and the dodgy car park. Lovely if you want a lot of noise and drunks outside your house every night.

userxx Fri 13-Dec-19 13:34:48

I bet there has been some dodgy parties in that place.

kjhkj Fri 13-Dec-19 13:39:28

I actually can't believe anyone has spent that amount of money on it and hopes to sell it for that in that location as a single home. It should have been flats.

AhoyMrBeaver Fri 13-Dec-19 13:39:55

I used to live in that street. It was indeed quite noisy and full of drunks, which is why I loved it fgrin

Pinkypie86 Fri 13-Dec-19 13:41:45

Pretty sure it's still classed as The Park, have friends who live on the street behind.
I know where it is - the house is fab. If I could move it to another town a few miles away - I would smile

AhoyMrBeaver Fri 13-Dec-19 13:44:17

No, it's not The Park.

Waterandlemonjuice Fri 13-Dec-19 13:48:21

That is indeed a dodgy car park. I stayed in that St James hotel a while ago and was woken at 3am by a drunk or drugged man rampaging through the hotel. There was blood all over the walls the next morning. Nice house but the caves are pointless surely? Unless you want a wine cellar I suppose. So that’s £200k a bedroom which is surely steep for Nottingham?

BentNeckLady Fri 13-Dec-19 13:50:31

OMG the parties I could host in that house 😍

Clymene Fri 13-Dec-19 13:50:41

What a shame the return has ripped all the soul out of the place. It looks like a new build inside and I am sick to the back teeth of grey.

It looks like a bloody office

Clymene Fri 13-Dec-19 13:51:04

Return = refurb

ChristmasSpirtsOnTheRocksPleas Fri 13-Dec-19 13:52:06

It would look amazing if you decorated it nicely but surely a bit steep for Nottingham? You can buy something incredible for the price out of town in that area. Although I suppose some people might like to be able to walk to work?
