Is it weird to give nursery a replacement class photo with my Ds photoshopped in

Just that really...Ds missed class photo day last Feb. Got around to ordering photos recently and the photo company kindly photoshopped him in and it looks great. I ordered two copies and was going to give one to the school to replace the one on the wall without him....DD going there next year though it'd be nice for her to see him....but when I rang the nursery the receptionist seemed a bit serious and quiet and just said she'll get the teacher to ring me back...now I feel a bit awkward like I'm being a bit precious and a bit embarrassed. Is this a bit weird?

It is amazingly weird! I'm almost envious of your nerve that you rang and asked about this as if it was completely normal Grin
Mind you, I think the fact that the photographers did it in the first place is bizarre.

You also know that the photo will stay in a drawer and you will never look at his nursery class photo again, don’t you?

I don’t think it’s that weird. It’s a class photo so it should have the whole class in it!

Grin it's a little bit strange!

Sorry OP, that proper made me giggle Grin

It is a little bit weird, but oh well, we’re all a bit weird about our children. Just don’t mention it again, unless the teacher calls you back and then just style it out like it’s the most normal request in the world Grin

Definitely weird, I had this in reverse, my sons school had a trip to an adventure park but he broke both his arms the day before so obviously couldn’t go. When we visited to get his casts signed the teacher gave me a professional photo of the class from the trip. I thought maybe she hadn’t realised or forgotten he wasn’t on it so said “oh DS didn’t go on that one” she didn’t even falter just said “I know, thought you might like it anyway”.. yes because he really wants to be reminded of the great fun day he missed whilst in hospital Grin

Definitely weird, on all fronts. Really surprised that the photographer even did this, but definitely a bit odd to ask the nursery to replace a photo taken ten months ago with a photoshopped version!

Absolutely bonkers. Who would think of getting their DC photoshopped in to a picture! PFB, op?

Sometimes they just miss out for whatever reason. It’s not the end of the world.

I don’t even understand why you ordered a photo that didn’t have your child in let alone get him photoshopped into it - utterly bizarre .

Oh OP that’s fantastic

I’d love to have seen the receptionist’s face

OP kids come and go through the year they can keep photoshopping so it’s an accurate representation of who attends that week.

Why did you even bother ordering if he wasn’t at photo day? Did you have to take a picture of him and send it through to the company to photoshop in? Did you ring them up and ask for this to be done? I’m baffled! If he misses picture day he missed picture day, that’s it done with!

The receptionist was probably quiet and serious because she was trying really, really hard not to laugh!
