Do you believe in karma and have you seen it in action? I have.

Yes! My ex partner told me my teenage daughter was disgusting for having a baby so young and told me to kick her out.
Guess what?
His teen daughter is now pregnant, the mum kicked her out and now his daughter has gone knocking on his door. Apparently he is livid...

It’s a sad situation but it’s also karma.

Karma.

Yes I completely believe in it - both this lady and ancestral / past life Karma

A two faced boss who made always protected the department bully and made a big deal about being such a good catholic... after I left she was caught bonking an intern (early 20s to her early 30s) on the desk in our office (yuk). HR took a very dim view apparently...

Yup.

Very recently. Someone was nasty to me. Contact ceased. Then they phoned me needing my help ...

Did you say
A) ‘of course’
B) ‘would love to but I’m too busy’
C) ‘Hahahahahaha! Fat chance!’
D) ‘fuck off’

I spoke soothing words but did nothing practical to aid them.

Am not proud. But I’m hoping it will be a learning experience for them.

Yep.
Recently discovered that my childhood abuser is unable to care for himself. He has had very early strokes, aneurisms and is generally in very poor health.

I believe wholeheartedly in it, even before I found that out. I always try to 'pay it forward' wherever I can and it always comes back to me.

Bollocks, if Karma existed there would be no need for children's hospitals and I fucking defy anyone to stroll around one and then try and convince themselves it's cos "karma".

What a crock.

Cause and effect however, that is an actual thing.

No, of course not. But I do believe in coincidence.

Do people believe Dinosaurs were affected by karma?

Yep my NDN was a bitch to me years ago but it was mainly her son that was a little sod , she didn't like that I told him off for jumping on my wall after I was pissed off with it one day . There was loads of other stuff that he did he was only a kid but I think she actually encouraged him because she disliked me . One day when we had a row was at the end of my tether I said he will end up in prison .
Years later I was in my house and the police had chased him home sirens and everything and he got carted off in a police car . I never found out what for but he had grown into a cocky 20 odd year old . I'm not ashamed to say I took great pleasure in watching him escorted in police car , not so cocky now . Karma will always bite back . Grin

@MellowMelly I can’t believe you’re actually delighting in that and calling if karma Confused Your ex was a cunt for saying that but there’s now a young pregnant woman whose been kicked out by her mum and will have minimal (if any) support from either of her parents and could be homeless to boot? And you call that karma? Weird way of looking at the world.

I don't believe in Karma but if I did, my favourite recent example was this...

Hard Man Hoodie got on the bus I was on with his barky Staffie. He swaggered upstairs, ostentatiously making a point of failing to get his Oyster card out and pay for his journey, whilst silently eyeballing everyone and challenging them to call foul. The bus driver, understandably, decided they don't get paid enough for that shit and ignored, as did the rest of us.

Some stops later, Hard Man Hoodie attempted to descend the stairs and leave the bus as barky Staffy enthusiastically, persistently and loudly humped the hell out of his leg. Everyone desperately tried not to exchange glances, not that that entirely prevented the escaped snorts and sniggers.

@isseywith4vampirecats

My ex cheated on me. His new girlfriend got pregnant very quickly after our split. When the baby was 3 months old, she told him that the baby wasn’t his - it was her ex husband’s, who she had been cheating on my (now) ex with. She was also leaving my ex to get back with her ex husband.

I then got a message from my ex, asking if I’d like to meet for a drink. After he hadn’t responded to my messages after our split, asking about post etc. I’d found out from a friend what had happened to him, so I blocked him.

This was years ago. I do think that the karma was worse for him, than what he’d done to me.

Um no, I dont believe in karma at all.

Irony can be a poetic thing if you see it happen, but for every "bad guy" who gets their seemingly perfectly fitting just desserts, there are people who keep consistently get fucked over without deserving it, and people who based on their actions would deserve some of the bad stuff but keep landing on their feet.

There's no good vs evil, no black and white, and no karma, only chaos that is sometimes influenced by peoples past actions, and sometimes not at all. Such is life.

No, good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people every day.

Every time I see my exH's miserable face. But he's so happy dontcha know Grin The grass was not greener and in fact lots of animals had urinated on it before it was parched by the sun and it is now at risk of succumbing to wildfire when the next dry and hot spell hits. Then it will become a barren wasteland.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Yes, but it's more like poetic justice than karma. Very snobby parent that I know used to delight in the fact that some pupils at the same school didn't earn a place on a coveted course. Then it happened to her little darling. She blamed the teachers.

When I left abusive exh he wouldn't let me take any baby photos of MY dc. He hid them in his car.
The week I moved out his car was burnt out in a garage due to electrical fault.
He spent years turning dc against me. Even told their school he was the only dp..
Dc hit 12 +14.
Guess who they went nc with??

Report
Her0utdoors · 02/12/2019 19:43

No, but one day last summer I spent the day killing wasps because they were bugging my dc. Then I sat on one and it stung me on the bum.

No, of course not. Purely by coincidence, sometimes unpleasant things happen to unpleasant people, just as sometimes unpleasant things happen to benign, blameless people. If you follow the idea that you get what you deserve, you end up with toddlers who have untreatable leukaemia paying for something they did in a past life?

Report
hazeyjane · 02/12/2019 19:49

No I don't.

Shit happens to good people and bad people. Good stuff happens to good and bad people. It is all random.

XXMansplainShieldActive & PotteryWheel - I’d be astonished if anyone on this thread associates karma with sick children in hospital. We think of karma when we feel some idle revenge for specific wrongs done to us. It’s not a generalised assumption that anyone in an unfortunate position is ‘getting what they deserve’. That would be ... silly. And wrong.
