Ever since I was around 6 I’ve watched the nightmare before Christmas on Christmas Eve because it was on the tv. It’s been a tradition ever since then that I have sinned passed onto my kids. So imagine my rage (lighthearted) when someone tried telling me it’s a Halloween movie. I’ve never been so disheartened 😂 so tell me, what have you grown up knowing the nightmare before Christmas as?

I'm not sure. I don't like the film at all and doesn't make me feel Christmassy but it's not right for Halloween either.

It’s set after Halloween and in the run up to Christmas- it’s a Christmas movie.

I'd say Christmas. I noticed our cinema is showing it for half term, seemed wrong.

It starts on the day after Halloween. So cannot be a Halloween film. And it's all about Jack trying to do Christmas, so clearly a Christmas film!

Both, I saw it at a special Halloween screening a few years ago!

Christmas, I watch it every year

I watched it on Xmas eve as a kid. Freaked me out. Didn't feel xmassy at all. It's a Halloween film based on the fact that it's full of mostly Halloween characters (they're the ones who have the main parts).
My OH disagrees

As a Disney obsessive and long-time Goff grin I agree that it is a Christmas film. However, it can be enjoyed at Halloween too. And probably any other day of the year wink.
