I've just sunk half a pack of cookies to actually look at them and notice little white spots all over them. They aren't solid and you can rub them between your fingers and they're gone. Tasted and not sugar. Is this some weird type of mould? I'm scared and hoping to be told I'm being thick blush

PICS!

doodlejump1980 Mon 21-Oct-19 17:02:47

They look a bit like eggs of some sort to me. 🤮

Nobhobs Mon 21-Oct-19 17:03:17

Be right back setting my mouth on fire

Seeline Mon 21-Oct-19 17:03:33

Are they hard or soft?

Nobhobs Mon 21-Oct-19 17:04:10

Soft. Oh my god I'm going to vomit

beckyvardy Mon 21-Oct-19 17:04:33

Where have they been stored?

Gingernaut Mon 21-Oct-19 17:05:00

How old are they?

Did you bake them yourself?

How were they stored?

What's the USE BY date?

Then panic.

dementedpixie Mon 21-Oct-19 17:05:05

What sort of cookies? Anything on the ingredients list they could be? Do they dissolve or are they crunchy?

Lulualla Mon 21-Oct-19 17:05:29

No idea, but how could you eat half a packet without looking at them?!?!?

HauntedmessFrogbeaver Mon 21-Oct-19 17:05:48

That's sugar, surely? Sprinkled on.

dementedpixie Mon 21-Oct-19 17:06:31

She said it wasnt sugar

Stillafatknacker Mon 21-Oct-19 17:07:15

How did you not notice? grin

HauntedmessFrogbeaver Mon 21-Oct-19 17:07:21

I know she said that, but realistically that's what it probably is. Hardened a bit.

PullingMySocksUp Mon 21-Oct-19 17:07:29

Coconut? Otherwise errrhh.

Nobhobs Mon 21-Oct-19 17:08:46

They're co-op free from cookies, they looked unusual but I've never had gluten free cookies before. Half way through the pack I looked at the picture on the back which definitely didn't have white ball things all over it and then panic set in

mollycoddle77 Mon 21-Oct-19 17:09:34

Biscuit beetle eggs?! shockgoogle it

Nobhobs Mon 21-Oct-19 17:09:56

DH bought them home, I was already disappointed as I'd asked for Maryland but EGGS?! Fucking eggs?!?!

Seeline Mon 21-Oct-19 17:10:01

Could it be some sort of fat leaching out sounds better than the alternatives

dementedpixie Mon 21-Oct-19 17:10:03

What have they got instead of wheat flour? Maybe it's whatever the substitute is

64sNewName Mon 21-Oct-19 17:12:41

They’re unlikely to be eggs op - don’t panic

Ohyesiam Mon 21-Oct-19 17:15:58

I think it’s part of the vaguries of gluten free baking

AliceLittle Mon 21-Oct-19 17:20:39

Looks like sugar

beckyvardy Mon 21-Oct-19 17:50:51

Buy another pack it's the only way to be sure smile
