Neighbours’ brand new pampas grasses

MargaretPleaseRetire · 21/10/2019 13:24

Over the weekend 2 massive pampas grasses have appeared in my neighbours’ front garden.

We don’t know each other very well but they seem nice and we always exchange pleasantries.

Would it be wrong of me to tell them why sales of pampas grasses have plummeted in recent years?! 🤪

Perhaps they bought them deliberately?!

Gosh! How do I find out 🤣

I thought wicker hearts were the new signal.

Pop round for coffee. See if there's a bowl for guest's keys.

Report back.

My neighbourhood was built in the 70s and there's Pampass everywhere. I keep to myself.

I need to ask 2 questions.

  1. What the heck is pampass grass.
  2. Why is it not acceptable anymore.

Hmm worrying.
Any sex ponds in the garden or a suspiciously robust climbing swing?

You could always leave your porch light on and see what happens Grin

Not sure a porch light is completely innocent Confused

Do they have a pet? Is it a labradoodle etc or Alan from accounts in a gimp mask?

Do they have a hot tub as well?

Please go round there and ask them, all innocent-like, where they bought their pampas grass as you've been thinking of getting some for a while now. Watch their reaction. Report back.

Just to be on the safe side you should invite them in for a coffee, wear Little House on the Prairie type clothes, pass them a few religious tracts to use as coasters while telling them you're not pampas grass people yourselves but you try not to judge others.
Got to say, I never knew that about pampas grass myself. MN is always a learning curve Grin

... I didn't know this was a thing... my grandparents have it in their front garden... I might need to go and have a little cry and/or vomit

I didn’t know about wicker hearts! Every day is a school day!

I think it’s ok for grandparents to have them 😂

The couple are around 50ish - no kids!

According to my local swingers - friends as well but not in the genital contact sense - pampas grass is as yesteryear as keys in a bowl. On a more day to day level, they wear pendants or similar with "it's a fab day" on them and people who swing (and use the fabswingers website) go through the motions of engineering conversations about what a fab day it is... a bit James Bondish ... "The rain in Schpain Mish Moneypenny..."

OMG I have a wicker heart hanging in my Porch window. And I use the word Fab a lot.
Definitely not a swinger but others must assume that I am. Confused

You will have them soon. We removed 4 over 10 years ago and the mini plants still randomly appear every so often.

If they have a caravan on their drive, does it have a table lamp in the front window as well?
