Does anyone do their S=shopping in Tesco Addlestone Extra?

Bit of a strange request, but if someone could help I'd be really grateful.

DH is light sensitive, really light sensitive and it's really difficult to find sunglasses that work for him. Some reflect the light from the inside of the lenses, some the fit doesn't quite work. I've lost count of the amount of pairs he's tried over the years. He has to wear them all the time so we go through quite a lot.

We got some in a Tescos in Berkshire when we were visiting someone. They work.

I've emailed Tesco, as you can't buy online which is quite annoying.
They have said the Addlestone Extra branch has 11 pairs of these glasses.

We actually live abroad, so it's not like we can pop down and get some. This is why I'm posting.
I know Mumsnetters can move mountains. So If anyone shops at the Addlestone Extra and can please pick me up a few pairs, 3-5 if possible. I would be more than happy to send the money over by either bank transfer or paypal. They can be posted to a UK address as we have family visiting next month.

If anyone could help that would be amazing.

I have pictures of the ones he has at the moment. One of the DC sat on them so the arm is taped. Which is why we're thinking it would be good to have some spares.

Is it really only that store that has any of these sunglasses ?

Please detail the make, model, style if possible of these sunglasses. This is to see if they can be found at any other TESCO store. I know what they've told you but it just seems odd that they are only at that store.

Yes, they won't post.
I've also asked for an email for the branch manager, they won't give me that.

If you set up a Tesco home delivery account, pay for the sunglasses and pay for the cost of having them delivered to my address I will forward the order to you if you pay the postage cost.

If not, pay for them on a click and collect basis and pay for a courier firm to collect them.

That would be great @MissDew unfortunately can't buy them online as tescos don't do the F&F online now. It would be super easy if they did as I could just get them sent to MIL and she could bring over when she visits.

I think the manager looked into the different branches alphabetically and stopped at the first branch, so I wouldn't be surprised if they stock these glasses in other branches too. If I didn't live abroad myself I would check my local branch for you. Maybe some other Mumsnetters could do the same?

The guy I spoke to was the manager, I think I had previously spoken to someone on the customer service desk, he was so nice. He thought there must be a way round it. The problem might be that it needs chip and pin and they can't do payments over the phone, that's what a lady I spoke to said. The manager is going to have a look for them and call me back this afternoon. Hopefully we'll find a way.

Good luck OP. I'm nowhere near but good luck to you. I know what it's like to not be able to see without a right pair of sunglasses. I travel pretty far for mine when my kids inevitably scratch them (honestly, why would you throw them in a junk drawer full of sharp stuff?!!! Kids!)

@FionaOgre If you are extremely light sensitive then I highly recommend Noir Medical (noirmedical.com/) DH gets his outside glasses and the glasses he uses when working on the computer from there. The prices are really good (they ship from the US) and have so many different tints and %'s.

This morning I've spoken to a very helpful guy at the Addlestone Tescos called Brendan. He was in the stockroom looking with someone and I emailed him pictures of them.

I'm quietly confident he and his colleague will find them.

Fantastic OP. I've found that most people will often go out of their way to help in situations like this.
Thanks for that link. I'm not a glasses wearer except for sunglasses so just stick with the cheapies but it is irritating when you go through loads trying to find one that doesn't make you still squint on sunny days. I hide mine from the family by keeping them in the glasses holder of the car now

Now I really need some help please. Brendan can't take payment over the phone so they'll need to be picked up and paid for.

They are £7.50 each.

So £37.50 total.

Can anyone please pick them up and pay and post them?

I'm more than happy to transfer via bank transfer or paypal, whatever is easiest.

Glasses + Postage + Petrol money to get them.

Brendan has put them aside and has given me his mobile number so I just need to let him know when they can be collected.
