Please, tell me your best cure for warts?

I've had it years. I've tried wartner numerous times now and it did nothing. Also one which was supposed to freeze it off, a layer came off but that was it. I've tried duct tape and banana skin. I've tried filing it down. It is still there. It is on my finger and my hands are on show a lot. I hate it!

I have got a layer of nail polish on it now to starve it of oxygen.

Any other recommendations?

I'm very surprised to say this, but tea tree oil drops in olive oil. My dd has had a very persistent wart on her finger. She's put this on every day for the last week or two and it barely visible. I'm dead impressed.

Similar to you op, I had three on my finger for over two years. I tried EVERYTHING, nothing worked. Then I gave up trying and guess what, I woke up one day shortly afterwards and they had just gone, vanished overnight. So no miracle remedies I’m afraid but just wanted to let you know there is some hope!

Following! Is there a recipe for how much tea tree to oil you need and does it need covered?

My gran used to buy my warts off me. I think the going rate was £1 each in 1972. Inexplicably, it always worked. A few years ago I tried the same trick when DD had a wart and it worked again!!!!

Possibly not helpful but any port in a storm. (Going rate must be around a tenner now).

WeeM - I'm quite lazy, I'm afraid and guessed it. I put it in a washed out 30ml pippete bottle i had. Almost all olive oil. Probably 10-15 drops tea tree. She didn't cover it.

I originally did the bottle for one on her foot. It didn't work there, and i think i did it quite consistently there. Perhaps it didn't work there because of the thickness of the skin.

Of course, it could have just disappeared of its own accord as the others said. It had been there a year or more, though.

My youngest DD had lots of warts on her hands and we had tried everything until someone suggested SALACTOL. We used it and treated 5-6 of the biggest ones on her hands and they seemed to be going - one day we went surfing and literally it’s like they disappeared that day. Most odd and no signs of a wart since 10 years later

I'll try the olive / tea tree oil a go first as I havd them in the house and then salactol!

When I was a kid I had one on my thumb and I bit it off 🤦‍♀️ Probably not a great idea but it’s never come back!

My MiL says to bury a dead cat under a full moon.

But try the other poster's suggestions first.

Tea tree oil.

I had one aswell and I put a load of it on a cotton pad over the wart area with tape and over a couple of uses, it was flat!

When I was in my 20's I had warts all over my hands, mainly around the fingernail area with one huge one at the top of my middle finger, I started (for some reason!) dabbing them with nail varnish remover and they were all gone within a week! Don't ask me how it worked but they never ever came back and I'm in my 50's now!

Stick with the nail varnish. Got rid of my DC's verrucas in about 3 weeks after nothing else worked. I just painted it on every night after trimming off the dead bits and old varnish.

I've had one wart on my finger for 12 years. I have tried tea tree oil and everything else on the market.
I file it down if it gets really big, I think I have it for life.

I tried everything on this thread. Even repeated freeze treatments (I’d overdo it and give myself frost bite) didn’t work. Filing them down and painting stuff on was ok, but one day I took a pair of nail clippers to them (bunch of them on my hands, a couple huge) and snipped away at them until they were bleeding and practically gone.
They healed up and disappeared forever!

DH had lots of warts as a child; he went sea swimming and they all disappeared never to return.
Similarly I had a few on my fingers, went swimming in the local pool, when I got out of the water they had all gone.

I swear by vitamin C! I had lots of little warts on my fingers that looked unsightly. By chance I started eating two satsumas everyday without fail, just to try and avoid getting too many colds.
Then, after a few weeks I looked down and 99% of my warts had disappeared. If you Google it, there is some research out there that suggests Vit c can help.
So I swear by Vitamin C, and as well as getting rid of my warts, I've certainly had fewer colds too!

Just updating to say I managed to get rid of it with some Pickles Callous Ointment.

I put a tiny dot on and covered it with a plaster for about three nights and that did it!

Hurrah!

My friends son aged 6 was having them burnt off. Very painful.
I gave him homeopathic Thuja..they went and never came back again.
Course we all know homeopathy doesnt work.

My big toe was covered in them as a child and I had a few on my finger. I had them for years nothing worked. I swam like a fish too. Someone told me to dog them with a needle until they bleed and then put methylated spirits on them. Burnt like hell but worked and 24 years later no warts!

Cut a small potato in half and rub the cut half over the wart. Bury the used half of potato in earth - if you haven't got a garden a pot will do, or anywhere you can discreetly dig a little hole to bury it.

By the time the used half of the potato rots down, the wart will be gone.
