“No one has asked if I was ok” (alight msiqiote but typing on phone)

What are people’s thoughts? Good on her i think but equally she can leave public eye

betaboo Fri 18-Oct-19 15:51:21

She went through hell with her family, it must have caused so much stress during her pregnancy, her and Harry have had a ridiculous amount of vitriol thrown at them, the way they have been bullied and treated is horrendous. Unfortunately they are everyone’s target at the moment, its a feeding frenzy of bullying, everyone getting in on the act.

i don’t think anyone could stay removed or untouched emotionally by what she has had to deal with. It is even worse than what his mother went through.

ShirleyPhallus Fri 18-Oct-19 17:12:18

I really felt for her in that interview. Totally raw and really honest. I know people are saying she can step out of the limelight but it must be so hard to be criticised for absolutely everything, especially when you feel so vulnerable being pregnant and with a newborn

Geometric628 Fri 18-Oct-19 17:21:21

I like her. I think the press are absolute bastards. I haven’t seen this interview though.

KurriKawari Fri 18-Oct-19 18:20:45

Even if her and Harry decided to give it all up and live like "normal people" they'd (a) be hounded every day (b) have no team/security around them to keep them protected both physically and emotionally.

HerculesTheBercules Fri 18-Oct-19 18:26:51

They cannot step away, real life isn’t like that.

I cannot understand the vitriol, they seem a totally lovely, loving couple, and if they are not in some way that is nothing to do with us.

MrsBungle Fri 18-Oct-19 18:27:43

I only saw a clip but I really feel for her. She looked really upset. sad

Sunflower20 Fri 18-Oct-19 18:30:15

They're probably nice people, but why give an interview? What's the point of that? And honestly I don't know anybody that cares about these two.

Perch Fri 18-Oct-19 18:32:53

I feel so very sorry for her she will never do anything right sad

Milomonster Fri 18-Oct-19 18:34:35

After all the vitriol, perhaps this is a strategic interview to show she has a soft side. However, I thought the “not many people ask me” comment was possibly disingenuous given the number of high-profile slebs/pals who have given interviews saying how amazing she is. She isn’t someone who lack attention. Anyway, who really gives a fuck about the number. Surely, it’s about those closest to her or anyone, for that matter.

Raindrops2019 Fri 18-Oct-19 18:35:13

Seemed very genuine to me. I remember the press about her family during the wedding and thought she carried herself amazingly well. How many of us could have done that on a world stage? He seemed completely in love.

I don't know much about the ins and outs and how she has been tretaed by the press as I don't follow it but she is a new mum, new country, new and extraordinary expectations. he must be feeling the absence of his mum now. Hearing people like them talk about mh difficulties can only be helpful to ordinary people struggling in silence.

Lizzzar Fri 18-Oct-19 18:35:57

They could retire from public life as in public tours of Africa, editing Vogue etc and still have basic security as minor members of the Royal Family. And if the Royal Family as going to survive at all in the long term it will be down to William and Kate. I think they may genuinely think they can do some good running a foundation for Africa or something similar, but it will be inevitably controversial with many if it is to be seen to be accepting public money.

RightOnTheEdge Fri 18-Oct-19 18:36:06

I saw a clip of this and it made me feel really sad, she looked and sounded so upset.
I don't care who she is it made me want to give her a big hug.
Predictable, vile comments in the comments section. It makes me sick.

Squiff70 Fri 18-Oct-19 18:38:35

Poor lady looked on the verge of tears as she said that. I feel sad that a woman - ANY woman despite their privileges (or lack, thereof) - would feel this way. I am pregnant myself and understand what she means by feeling vulnerable. I pray the press back off after this - we can never lose another person - Royal or otherwise - under the same or similar circumstances in which Princess Diana lost her life.

purplepalace Fri 18-Oct-19 18:38:41

How can she step away from the limelight? I really don't think that's possible for either of them.

Even Diana couldn't step away even after leaving the royal family.

I wonder if she knew it was going to be like this if she would've persued a relationship with him from the start.

I also wonder what TM is feeling seeing her that sad, I hope he feels very ashamed but I doubt it.

PortiaCastis Fri 18-Oct-19 18:39:35

I feel sorry for her, being the subject of such nasty bitching from the media and online keyboard witches would be very upsetting for anyone.

LouiseLouisa87 Fri 18-Oct-19 18:39:57

Oh diddums! Nobody asked poor Meg if she was ok!
Christ she’s so out of touch. She lives such a privileged lifestyle. She’ll never have to worry about money, she’s presumably healthy, she’s got a lovely husband and baby.
What about us normal folk? We’ve got actual real problems without all the privilege Meghan has. Sorry but I don’t buy this pathetic self-pity.

ChicCroissant Fri 18-Oct-19 18:43:06

I don't think it's going to look good that they are taking action against the press yet having a documentary at the same time tbh. I think the press action was really badly timed (I've said that before as well).

spaniorita Fri 18-Oct-19 18:43:56

Eeh I'm not her biggest fan, but she doesn't deserve to feel like that - nobody does. They both seem to be struggling actually, and I feel that they might have inadvertently isolated themselves a bit too much by wanting to do things their own way and perhaps therefore don't have as much family support as many "normal" people do. I guess in their position, professional support is easy to come by, but paying people to do a job isn't the same as having your family around. I wanted to give her a bit of a squeeze actually, and I'm not a cuddly person. She seems absolutely deflated. I wonder what the queen will think of that interview...

Clawdy Fri 18-Oct-19 18:44:28

I wondered how long it would be before someone posted something nasty and sneering.

TSSDNCOP Fri 18-Oct-19 18:46:54

Can someone explain what the income/fame threshold is on being allowed to feel like shit.

Well if she and Harry cleared off to who knows where the press and associated online nasty feckers would just start on someone else
I've often found that those who love to dish nasty shite out are never very happy to get it back though!

HotChoc10 Fri 18-Oct-19 18:53:36

Obviously it's managed by their PRs but I don't see how you could interview them and not ask something along the lines of 'do you think the millions of tax payers' money you spent on home renovations could have gone to better use?'

NoSauce Fri 18-Oct-19 18:53:54

I felt for her personally. She seemed close to tears and quite vulnerable, I also read between the lines that it wasn’t just motherhood that had been a struggle but the constant hounding and name calling from the gutter press and their followers that had taken its toll.
