I appreciate this has been covered a hundred times before, but it's not really registered before, as I'm currently trying to lose weight (4st4/28kg lost already) so not really eating much chocolate/junk food at the moment.

I'll get to the point. It's coming up to my birthday and I'd like some amazing chocolate to make it worth me breaking my diet temporarily.

So, hit me with you favourite brands. Can be either shop bought or online. I live in a town with easy access to Tesco, Morrison's, Sainsbury's, Aldi, Lidl, Waitrose and a seperate out of town M&S food hall.

Thanks

What's your preference? Milk or plain? White is obviously not worth breaking a diet for!

I'm a plain chocolate fan and I love Montezumas chocolate, you won't get the full range anywhere except them (they sell online) but some of the more popular ones are sold in waitrose. Hotel chocolat any good to you? Way too much good choice. Or you can get lindt most places and they do some good ones as well as some very sweet yuk.

Happy birthday and well done on a huge amount of will power!

Tony’s is v nice for milk from Sainsburys or Waitrose?

I like all chocolate, plain, white and milk. I remember Tony's chocolate being mentioned before. A good excuse for me to go into my towns recently refurbished Waitrose.

Any other suggestions?

Llama, you are right of course about white not being worth breaking the diet for!

Ooh yes I concur with PP. Montezumas is excellent. Especially their truffles. A real treat. I wonder if you can order them online?

I've tried Hotel Chocolat and find them ok. I'll try Montezumas as well. I'll look online for them as well

Tony's Chocolonely is my favourite by miles at the moment, although it is expensive. They sell it in Sainsbury's and Waitrose.

Hotel Chocolat caramelised milk chocolate is amazing.

Waitrose 1 milk chocolate with pistachios, hazelnuts and cashew.

If you want to go all out get some Paul Young chocolates. Not sure if they’re available online but WELL worth the trip into London!

I love the dessert collection by Lily O’Brien. When I was pregnant with ds2 I had gestational diabetes so couldn’t eat chocolate, but as a mat leave gift my work team bought me 2 boxes. I scoffed a whole box on the ward after ds was born Blush. To be fair any chocolate would have tasted amazing at that point but I have had them before and since and they are lovely (and very reasonably priced)

I’ve had both Tony’s and Hotel Chocolat before and although they are nice I wouldn’t say they are amazing for the money.

Moser Roth from Aldi is both “good” (fair trade, no palm oil) & very very nice

I also like Divine - 2 for £3 from Ocado atm Smile

The Lindt pick and mix you get from Lindt shop at outlet villages are very good there’s one with cereal in it which is lovely then a tiny gold bar which just melts in your mouth

Tony's chocaloney. Specifically, salted caramel. Waitrose and Sainsbury's sell it.

I’d order some Rococo chocolate from London

Or if I’m in a cheapo chocolate mood I’d go for the m&s gigantic milk chocolate buttons

You can buy them from the Lindt website too. Not massively expensive either.
