Pregnancy so soon after miscarriage

Hi all. I'm new and looking for some advice. I recently had a miscarriage mid September and we said we would immediately try again once I felt upto it. Did a (negative) pregnancy test last Wednesday at the hospitals request. And decided that was a good time to start trying. Today I'm feeling incredibly nauseous, dull period type ache, aching boobs etc and wondering if there's a chance I could be pregnant so soon. Seems very soon to be having symptoms etc. The only other point I've thought of..... Sorry for tmi, my husband has "pre cum" and I'm wondering if that could have worked and I've fallen pregnant a little sooner. Didn't have much pain or bleeding after the mc so was back having sex within days

Have you had a period yet? Because it could be your period returning.

Normally the earliest you'd ovulate would be roughly two weeks after the miscarriage then a period approximately two weeks after that so the timing would fit with your period returning

Sadly I have extensive experience of loss and I think it will be absolutely fine to be pregnant again straight after a miscarriage. They might have trouble ascertaining dates without a period in between, though. Good luck!

I miscarried twice last year. My last one was October to November. I did a pregnancy test just before my first period after finishing my miscarriage. Just to get rid of it and start my next cycle fresh. We was also going to stop trying for a while as it had all taken a bit of a toll on me in more ways than one. Safe to say the test was positive and I'm currently sat breastfeeding my baby girl right now. So pregnancy right after a miscarriage is perfectly fine.

I had a positive pregnancy test 4 weeks after a miscarriage. My son is now 15 months old Smile

Thanks guys, blahblah that's lovely news, congratulations. I've not had my period yet. Hospital said it could be 6 weeks after the mc, but that I could fall pregnant immediately after the mc. We didn't actively try until after the negative test 9 days ago, just to try and make it easier to determine its a new pregnancy if I did a test in a few weeks. So just assumed this feeling today is potentially my periods returning. I've never had tender breasts and sickness with a period but it'll be my first one after the mc so it's probably not uncommon. But my sister has been talking about I could potentially be pregnant again as we've been having unprotected sex for 3 weeks now using the "pull out" method until we'd done the test 10 days after the mc. Maybe it's all in my head and I'm wanting it too much so over thinking it all

I had a miscarriage back in may, then one period, then conceived again! Currently 15 weeks. My scan showed it as perfectly healthy. Aren't you more fertile following miscarriage? It seems so as it took over a year the first time!

I had an early miscarriage, conceived again immediately, no issues with that pregnancy.

Sorry for your loss.
I had my first period 4 weeks after MC started, it was a bad one, felt sick with pain etc. I got PG next cycle and a positive test on cycle day 26/27 as I felt different to when I get my period. You are probably likely due on in the next week so sure as eggs is eggs you will either be lucky and be PG or be lucky and have a period soon so you can start your next cycle if you wanted to.

I will say though, I wish I had left a bigger gap to recover, I was exhausted as I was sick for more than 12 weeks, then I had 6 weeks of feeling OK and sickness for 6 more months. It took its toll.

With my son it took over 2 years to conceive. 6 months with the baby we've just lost in September. I've been researching fertility after a miscarriage and some say you're very fertile following a mc. The hospital told me the same. I'm the it's far too soon to test, I don't understand much about the implantation etc and timing. But I've terrible heartburn, sickness, sore boobs, trapped wind 🤦‍♀️etc the last 48 hours. All the same symptoms I had with my last pregnancy so it's playing on my mind and just wondering if anyone has actually fallen pregnant with "pre ejaculation" as I think that's the only way I could experience symptoms. We've only been trying for a week!!

My 12 yo was made like this (and would be grossed out to eternity to learn that so I'll not share with her Grin)

Fingers crossed for you!

Did the hospital give you the test? If they did, it could have been a low sensitivity test (higher HCG threshold) and HCG might still be at the level where it's picked up by a normal or early sensitivity test. Not sure if UK hospitals routinely use low sensitivity tests for miscarriages though (I'm in the US).

Re the pre-cum thing, I think they say the greatest risk is if the man has masturbated in the last hour or so and hasn't then gone for a wee. Typing that out felt weird!!

I became pregnant straight away and before I had a period after a miscarriage, DD is now 13 OP. It can be OK. 💐

I became pregnant without having a period straight after a miscarriage. The result is currently sitting on the sofa watching minecraft videos; she's 7. It makes dating the pregnancy difficult which is why they like you to have a period in between. Good luck.

I had surgical management of a missed miscarriage. My cycle started up again right away. I ovulated 14 days after the d&c. We weren’t trying but I can’t see why I couldn’t have potentially gotten pregnant then. I had my period as normal 28 days after mc.

We did start trying again the next month and I fell pregnant straight away. He is nearly 2 now and asleep in my arms as I write this.

If the timing seems right, sex about around the time you would have ovulated, it’s certainly possible.

I've had three miscarriages. I was pregnant immediately after two of them (no period) and they are 8 and 5 nowSmile
