Hi just a quick one.. well is starts like this I was in a relationship for 7 years with my now ex things changed when he started cheating he was in a whole new relationship behind my back i only recently found this out about his cheating he’s had a new baby with this woman while we was apparently still in the relationship it’s broke my world apart 💔 I’ve never really got on with any of his family they have caused arguments fights and so on throughout the relationship especially his mother she caused ALOT of the drama... well to get to the point we do share a child together he hasn’t seen in 1 year due to him being in jail not that he bothered anyway! Was just a excuse for him thinking he was being a good dad..his family haven’t asked about the child in the same one year but now I’ve found out about his new girlfriend and new baby they have tryed getting in touch demanding to have excess which I have not replied am I being unreasonable keeping my child away?? Also he was violent towards me when we was together resulting in social services involved and was to not have contact with the child.. it’s just one big mess I don’t no what to do right from wrong??

Sorry, are you saying his girlfriend wants access to your child?
If that's the case that's bloody ridiculous!

No it’s his family.. they haven’t asked in one year never wished him happy birthday noting now I’ve found out about the new girlfriend and her baby they want to start seeing my child again

Ignore them. They have no rights to contact with your child.

If they want contact they can take you to court. Only hand your child over when you have a court order in your hand telling you to. Otherwise Keep your child as far away from them as possible.

Ignore them completely and DO NOT engage with them in any way. Block their numbers, do not respond to letters, emails, anything. You don't want these people in your child's life.

Thanks for the reply’s I really appreciate them.. I have ignored them up to now I don’t really want them involved in the childs life there’s always having trouble with either themselves or others.. I just thought I was be unreasonable..The way I found out about the other woman and her child was a huge shock to me my whole world was ripped apart all of my ex’s family also knew about her and the baby and tbh it’s also made me very bitter towards them it was a whole new life he had behind my back and it was only me left in the dark about the whole situation
