I need help finding a fridge freezer.

Okay, so we need a new fridge freezer and I’ve been looking but I can’t decide on anything. Can anyone suggest one that suits them and works well? I don’t mind silver or white but not black, needs to be the taller ones so 180cm or above, preferably a 50/50 split but 60/40 is also fine. I’d love if it has proper handles but this is purely just because I like the look of them. I’d love one to have a meat drawer and a vegetable drawer and preferably no water dispenser as I don’t think it would get much use. Also 55cm wide. But basically if you have one or know of one you like and it’s really good please post it. Budget is £400. Which I get isn’t going to give me many options for the specifics I would like. Whatever comes closest will do lol

I bought a silver Samsung one recently. I had the exact same requirements as you (apart from the 50/50 split). It has a meat and a vegetable drawer and everything is clear so I can always see what is in the fridge and don’t forget about stuff in the drawers. No water dispenser, over 2m tall and has proper handles. It was quite a bit more than £400 though. I think they do have some closer to that price so might be worth looking online.

Perhaps look at Beko?

Got a Hisense one a few months ago that meets all those requirements (except it's black, but I'm sure other colours are available!). After doing lots of research on Which? they really rated hisense fridge freezers. They're very budget friendly too. Very pleased with ours so far - just don't order it from Currys whatever you do - they're a complete disaster!

I found a beko one that I like but it has the water dispenser and no meat drawer. I’ll have a look at Samsung too. I’ve seen so many that I love but my goodness they are expensive. I seen one for like six grand and it sounds amazing but I don’t have the space nor the funds lol

Oh right, why not curry’s? That’s where I’ve been looking. I’ve seen a lot of hisense ones but hadn’t heard of them before but I’ll have a better look into what they have.

I have just ordered a hotpoint one. It was £469 on the AO website but only £422 on their ebay outlet. With a discount code I onky paid £389. The discount code is freely available on the eBay page too.

Supplied by AO, nothing wrong with it all.

Try AO.com, reasonable prices and fast delivery, my fridge freezer is very similar to this one and has been great.
Beko CFG1582S 50/50 Frost Free Fridge Freezer - Silver - A+ Rated
£277 Beko
I have narrow but tall space so Beko fits fine, I do use baskets on the top shelf as I am too short to reach to the back of the shelf.

I've bought a dishwasher and a washing machine from Curry's in the last 5 years and they've both been absolutely fine. We've had most of our appliances from them, with no issues. Friend who bought from JL had no end of problems with delivery and damaged appliances.

When the dishwasher broke, it was a case of who could deliver me a suitable replacement the next day, and Curry's won. John Lewis would have taken a week and charged £50 more Hmm.

I think it's ao.com where you can put all your requirements into the search to narrow down to a small list of options. We also need a new fridge freezer as ours is over 20 years old, a Hotpoint from Currys as it happens.

It still works but all the freezer drawers are falling to bits and I just know that it will die in an inconvenient time, so I'm trying to run down the contents and maybe see if there are any good Black Friday deals going.

I’m leaning towards hotpoint myself it’s just deciding which one. I love the meat drawer and I can’t seem to find any others that have them with some of the other requirements. I don’t know why I’m struggling so much lol

@Aaarrgghhh I would stay away from anything Hotpoint or sister companies because after the debacle of the dangerous tumbler dryers that are still now going on I think would give them a wide berth. I had one of the dangerous tumble dryers. When I followed the information to get it fixed it was a 1 year wait to be fixed with a potentially dangerous tumble dryer that could go up in flames. No thanks. We got rid of it and would never again but anything from them. We now have a Samsung one. Just giving you advice x

No problem about receiving advice, I’ve heard others say bad things about them. I’m still on the hunt, I think I have too much choice to be honest.

Hello! defo not Curry's pc world, awful customer service, will bend over backwards to wriggle out of helping in the event of a problem, look online with reviews of 'kenwood' fridge freezer problems to get an idea of what I mean. In terms of product - beko as your budget option, now owned by arçelik they are one of the world's biggest manufacturers, and really the best of the budget brands, obs avoid Hotpoint group at the moment, too many issues surrounding them at the moment to consider. Blomberg, which is basically a beko rebrand are worth a look, sold exclusively by euronics resellers they are slightly bumped in spec and aesthetics and carry a three year warranty, not bad at all. Otherwise Samsung - promotional warranty at the moment with five years parts AND labour, plus ten years on the compressor. Well thought out products that maximise on space. As for where to buy? For what it's worth my opinion is stick smaller - your local euronics will have higher regard for you as a customer and give you honest advice and more of an old fashioned service (my tumble drier was from there and they were great, really knowing their products and even pre registered the warranty on the product - being a Blomberg they asked me to call the store not the company if there was an issue and they would sort it out - excellent! Otherwise it's worth considering marks electrical, started off as a small store in Leicester 30 odd years ago, now they still have the store but also a huge warehouse and national delivery. Great service again and excellent prices. My fridge freezer, Samsung, was slightly damaged inside, I called Friday afternoon, they said no worries we'll send you a text Sunday for time of delivery on Monday for replacement, and it was here before 2pm Monday - amazing service and friendly too, plus, it was 130 pounds cheaper than the same model at Argos or John Lewis!
Anyhow, hope that helps you out :)

Currys might be ok until you have an issue but when you have an issue they're the worst! I've honestly never had as bad an experience as I did with them and a fridge freezer. Delivery of damaged goods, engineers who didn't know what they're doing, awful customer service processes.....dreadful experience.

I’ve went for a hoover 50/50 fridge freezer. 3 door storage sections, five freezer boxes and four shelves and a vegetable box. It’s white, 55cm width and 197cm tall. It’s brilliant, well it looks lovely anyway and the reviews seem good. Was looking for days to find somewhere to buy it but nowhere delivers to Northern Ireland fs (none of the places that had this particular one) I emailed a place and I didn’t realise they had got back to me and I’d purchased a different one elsewhere, seen their email and cancelled and now will be buying from them because they deliver where we are. Funny enough, I asked about a different fridge freezer which they didn’t have but had this one that I was looking for and deliver and recycle for £15. Total is £345.

This is the make. Hoover HVBF195WH.
