Can I show off and be shameless here? I can't in real life

I have had a very tough time recently, dh has had a nervous breakdown, my dad who has always been abusive hit a new low and we're NC. My mum emigrated and it's just been so hard.
But ds got 11 level 9s and and A** in further maths yesterday and I am so so proud. He is severely dyspraxic and had oral dyspeptia which went undiagnosed until he was 4 which severely affected his speech. I was told he had SEN and he was put in a special group, I knew he was frustrated and moved his school then home schooled. He went to the local comp for secondary, it was on special
Measures, he was bullied but here we are.
I am so proud of my boy. I could burst.
As a working class northerner I will be ostracised for rl showing off, so can I be shameless here?
Sorry to anyone I annoy, I just need an outlet! Mn has helped me so much over the years with ds, dh and just life. Thank you all so much smilesmilesmile

Well done your DS - be proud of him!

AllGoodDogs Fri 23-Aug-19 22:12:30

Brag away! That is something you should both be hugely proud of!!

PennyNotSoWise Fri 23-Aug-19 22:12:42

Aah, boast away, that's brilliant!

Congrats to your DS, and a wine for you.

Lovely news for you OP, congrats to your DS!

proudmudda Fri 23-Aug-19 22:13:08

I am
So proud I could pop.
I keep petting him like he's a baby and he's furious. I am just so so so so so proud.
My god. grin

FuckAPotNoodle Fri 23-Aug-19 22:13:31

You deserve to be proud, a moment to treasure

ToLiveInPeace Fri 23-Aug-19 22:13:32

Brilliant boy. Glad for both of you!

StealthPolarBear Fri 23-Aug-19 22:13:34

That is utterly amazing. There are times when showing off (politely, as you have) is waarnted.
Is your mum also making a fuss? Does he have aunts and uncles to be justifiably proud too?

Merename Fri 23-Aug-19 22:13:41

That’s wonderful! Well done to him, and his proud mum flowers

Mammajay Fri 23-Aug-19 22:14:08

Congratulations - a clever boy and a lovely mum!

proudmudda Fri 23-Aug-19 22:14:14

Thank you
My excellence in mothering obviously responsible in the main part, rather than his dedication and hard work 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Piffpaffpoff Fri 23-Aug-19 22:14:19

Fantastic - it’s great when something brilliant happens. Wallow in it for a while!

duckroll Fri 23-Aug-19 22:14:20

That’s really lovely news - and you deserve to show off! Well done to your son (and to you) flowers

StealthPolarBear Fri 23-Aug-19 22:14:25

Ps if he's been bullied at school I hope sixth form (assume he's on to a levels next?) will be the making of him.

HoveringHobbit Fri 23-Aug-19 22:14:26

You should be so proud. Revel in it both of you

Joh66 Fri 23-Aug-19 22:14:51

Boast away! Well done both of you smile

Apileofballyhoo Fri 23-Aug-19 22:15:32

Washpot Fri 23-Aug-19 22:15:42

proudmudda Fri 23-Aug-19 22:15:55

DM nearly collapsed then said 'are they easy now' then went berserk. Her her genes obviously 😂😂😂

The most I can say outside the immediate family is 'he did very well'
😂😂🤣
Northerners!! We're such dicks.

livinglavidavillanelle Fri 23-Aug-19 22:16:01

That's fantastic! I would absolutely be bragging in RL, on FB, Twitter, Instagram and Whatsapp lol.
Sounds like it's been a hard road, but he's made it. You should be very proud of him of course, but also of yourself. Well done!

StealthPolarBear Fri 23-Aug-19 22:16:03

Actually this has made me a bit weepy. I hope I'm saying the same in four years when ds is doing his exams. Hopefully by then there will be gcses on fortnite and rubiks cubes. Who needs crappy subjects like maths and history anyway?!
