Last night I noticed a rash on both arms. I took antihistamine and forgot about it. This morning it's got worse and has spread, so it's now on both arms and up around my neck and shoulders.

It's a bit itchy but not massively. I was at the gym yesterday and thought it could be something to do with my sweat glands but now I'm not so sure. Haven't changed detergent or soap or bath stuff. Do I need to go docs? I just can't really be arsed!

Chicken pox? Do the spots have a silvery head on them.

TapasForTwo Wed 14-Aug-19 08:04:03

Looks like chicken pox to me

batteriesincluded Wed 14-Aug-19 08:05:34

Shit. Chickenpox? I had it when I was pregnant 7 years ago, didn't know you could get it again. Doesn't it turn into shingles?

Not sure about silvery head but some do have a whitish head

Also I'm not feeling unwell although been u usually sleepy and tired past 2 or 3 days

YeOldeTrout Wed 14-Aug-19 08:11:51

I had CP as an adult & was completely well with it. Just spotty. I agree it could be CP. Insect bites would be very itchy on me, way more than CP (wasn't itchy at all on me). Insect bites are only alternative I can think of.

Definitely not insect bites.

Oh dear.

I'm off to the local pharmacy to see what they say.

I've got so much to do today, including seeing social services and going to family therapy. I could do without this.

It's on my legs now too.

I've got a job interview tomorrow too.

tricksymother Wed 14-Aug-19 08:23:37

You need to be careful where you go!

Warn job interview and ask if it's ok for you to go in. If the interviewer is in early pregnancy that's dangerous.

I know. Oh god why this week of all weeks.

Waiting to be seen at the pharmacy now.

KUGA Wed 14-Aug-19 08:26:25

Looks like c/pox.
Go to the local pharmacy.
Good luck with job interview.

CP has blisters
That’s what clinches the diagnosis
I can’t see any blisters there?

LoafofSellotape Wed 14-Aug-19 08:28:41

Good that you're getting it seen. Unlikely to be CP if you've had it already but possible iirc.

BadgerBadgerMushroom Wed 14-Aug-19 08:29:01

Oh no that's not a nice start to your day. Hope it's not chicken pox so it doesn't mess things up too much

tricksymother Wed 14-Aug-19 08:29:41

Possibly hand foot and mouth- got any ulcers? If it started on arms and legs and isn't on your torso, that's more likely.

cansu Wed 14-Aug-19 08:29:53

Have you been vaccinated for measles??

batteriesincluded Wed 14-Aug-19 08:50:04

The pharmacist said it looked like chicken pox, as he took a massive step away from me 😂

Need to get it verified by doctor so on my way to walk in now.

Have had to cancel social services meeting which is just awful. I really really needed to attend this meeting.

I've had measles before, I don't even know if I have been vaccinated??? Haven't had a jab since secondary school

No ulcers... Yet

LoafofSellotape Wed 14-Aug-19 09:12:47

You should warn the walk in centre you're coming if you think it's CP.

batteriesincluded Wed 14-Aug-19 09:15:11

I have. They are putting me in isolation

LoafofSellotape Wed 14-Aug-19 09:54:52

Did they paint a big red cross on the door ?wink

Hope you get seen soon and hope it's nothing sinister.

batteriesincluded Wed 14-Aug-19 10:35:57

Yep more than likely chickenpox. I've been sent home for rest and to hide from the general public.

Can't believe it. Couldn't have come at a worse time. And supposed to be going camping on Friday waaaahh

Scruffalicious Wed 14-Aug-19 10:38:17

Let interviewer know!

tricksymother Wed 14-Aug-19 11:44:05

Bless you. At least you don't feel too bad.

May be worth enquiring about the vaccination, as you've had it twice now. I don't know if it helps. Have they given you antivirals?

LoafofSellotape Wed 14-Aug-19 13:30:36

Oh no,poor you sad

TapasForTwo Wed 14-Aug-19 15:13:54

I hope you feel better soon. Console yourself that the weather this weekend will be rubbish anyway.
