Obviously by the most recent series of Stranger Things. Who else thinks this is one of the most underrated films ever? Ive not seen it in years, but I watched over and over again as a child and loved it so much. It also has an amazing, pure cheese theme tune.

It deserves some love and I really need to see it again. Does anyone know if it's on Netflix? It has to be, surely?

I was obsessed with this as a kid. I couldn't get over this statues that could sense fear and that you would therefore be scared. I adored the large dog thing. I was quite young and can't remember his name, just that I loved him

Watched it on telly at Easter with the kids - 7 yo DS was entranced. I've always loved it.

I watched it recently and didn't think it had aged well. It was so bloody depressing too! Although obviously the song is great.

I (in my youth) and my kids liked the book better, but I do not know if it translated well?

Please read the book. I have never been more disappointed in a film adaptation than Neverending Story.

It's my favourite book of all time, the descriptions, the fear that is created, the hundred scenes/characters that are completely omitted or misrepresented. I gift the book to everyone, and they can't believe what an incredible and under read book it is. If the film wasn't called the same title as the book, you'd never know it was the adaptation. They are unrecognisable from each other...

I have a vague memory of watching this at my grandparents pit cottage, on VHS. I don't know if it's a true memory though - my grandparents wouldn't have bought a video recorder, but my uncle was fond of a five finger discount and so they could have had a hooky one. I don't associate anyone else with the film though and I only saw it once. It's a mystery.

I was actually slightly traumatised by the film as a 6 year old child. It gave me nightmares for months.

I'm not sure the film will have aged well i think it may well be one of the things 80's kids have romanticised. I remeber watching it on the projector at the villiage hall. It was our film.

I found the wolf in the garden bit absolutely terrifying. I used to have repetitive dreams about wolves chasing me up my road and me only just getting to my house in time. It scared me for many years as a small kid. My DS (6) has similar nightmares about wolves (we live on the second floor of an apartment block and there’s about four doors between us and front door downstairs but we regularly have conversations about how wolves would not be able to get in!) So don’t think DS would cope well with that part of it.

Didn’t know it came from an actual book - will have to check it out!

And yes the book is fantastic and although I loved loved lived the film it is no match at all to the original. YY to momo too. Was a big fan as a child.

My kids scarred by the horse scene - were too young to watch it. It prob has not aged well.

I must have been about eight/nine when I first saw it as it wasn’t long after we moved to the UK, I full on fell in love with Atreyu, sadly the guy who played him has not aged well.

I have the book on my Amazon wishlist for my 8 year old. Love the story. My art teacher used to read it to us during lessons.
I'm sure the film won't have aged well. Imo technological advances have made an awful lot of that era look dated, but the story will still be cool.

Yep, as has been said, it is Moon Child, his mother’s name (???!!!)

Loved that film as a kid. I knew every single word at one point I watched it so much!
