Innocent pleasures

There are few pleasures greater than putting on a new pair of box-fresh pajamas.
What small delights rock your world?
(Anyone who mentions ironing cannot be in my gang!)

Getting into bed with freshly shaved legs and something good to watch or read. Can't beat it IMO!

Even better if it's new bedding

The smell of freshly baked bread

Knowing that I have no ironing pile because I don't bother!

Getting out of the shower and being blown by the fan when it's boiling hot!

Putting your feet up after walking miles.

Oh you mentioned ironing fresh - but you are forgiven (I have the same attitude to it!)

Bubble bath, cup of tea, custard creams, scented candle, fat book.

Exactly what I’m doing now, as it happens Smile

Sitting on the sofa with the doors open to the garden. I’m doing it right now, and it’s my absolute favourite thing about my house except we have new neighbours who like to smoke right next to the fence Sad

Line-drive washing.
Agree about getting into bed with freshly shaved legs.
That feeling on Friday night when the kids are asleep, I have a glass of something and the whole weekend stretching ahead.
On the very rare occasion that it happens: waking up of my own accord, not because the alarm or the kids have woken me.

Snow day if you’re a teacher. Waking up to a text that says, “Stay in bed.”

On one of the walks I go on with my dog, there is a rope swing and I always have a go.

Swinging over a river at 8am feels very decedent.

Duplicative point, but taking my shoes off after work (flip-flops aren't allowed where I work, grrrhhh) on a summer's day, and walking barefoot in the garden, or taking off my flip-flops and walking barefoot in the park.

When you've had your hair up all day and don't realise your scalp has been so uncomfortable until you pull your hair band out let it all down and run your fingers through it. Heaven

Also taking your bra off and having a free jiggle.

The "Mummy!!" When I walk in from work.

Sitting in the garden and hearing nothing but the birds.

A really good scratch when you have an itchy back.

The smell from a BBQ.

The patterns behind your eyelids when you lie out in the sun.

A whiff of salty sea air just as you get to the beach.

Floating in a swimming pool when heavily pregnant. (Haven't done it for many years, but will never forget how it felt.)

Ice cold glass of rose on a summer evening.

Turning on the Out of Office message to go on holiday.
