Help please... camping close to Weymouth?

I am positing here in desperation and hoping that some lovely person may be able to help.
We are planning a family holiday to Weymouth but are really struggling to find a camp site that fits the bill without breaking the bank.
We need somewhere that takes motorhomes and that we can have electric hook up at.
It must allow children and dogs and we would like to be as close to Weymouth as possible.
Google is only bringing up big sites and they tend to be really expensive. We prefer little independent sites and stayed on Blagden Fruit Farm last year which we found completely by accident and was brilliant. But they have changed their policy on built in ground sheets so won’t accept our awning this year.
I know that it is a long shot but is anyone able to recommend anywhere to me.
You would be my hero forever.

Thanks

Forgot to add, it's near a bus stop that takes you into Weymouth

I was going to suggest Eweleaze Farm BUT you've understandably said that you don't want to break the bank, and Eweleaze is £££££££££££££££££££££££££

If you are prepared to go a bit further away from Weymouth, but still within a fairly easy drive, Wareham Forest touring park is fantastic. It has a heated outdoor pool too, and is child and dog friendly.

Thanks 2ManyDicksOnTheDancefloor I have been in touch with that one and am waiting for them to respond.

Thank you also MrsSpenserGregson eazewell is just so expensive that we can’t justify it, especially because we never use much in the way of facilities.
We have stayed on the corner campsite at Osmington a few times but we really need the hook up this time and they don’t offer it.

I will have a look at your other suggestion. We don’t mind being a bit out but motorhome parking is so limited that we would need to be up and off at the crack of dawn for a day at the beach if we went too far out.

Blagden was ideal but didn’t come up when we searched online. It was found purely by chance. I wondered if there was anywhere like that.

Hook up, shower and toilets in a field and we will be very happy campers.

I really do appreciate your help. Flowers

If you’re going in August, have a look at Buckland
Is Sea Barn Farm too big?

Have a look at Tom’s Field www.tomsfieldcamping.co.uk
Unfortunately it’s not near Weymouth, but it’s near Swanage which has a lovely beach.

Just thought of a way I found camp sites , used google earth/street map and looked about ! Takes a while but from satellite view you can spot things or when I had a caravan I used camping and caravan club

The New Forest isn’t far, maybe there’ll be somewhere there? Ringwood is nice.

We stayed here last year, basic but nice and clean with plenty of space, given it was a fully booked August bank holiday. www.osmingtoncampsite.co.uk/

The previous year we started on a camping and caravanning club site a bit further round the coast. It was ok, but quite close to the train line, so a bit noisy at times.

oldstudentmum That’s what we’ve been doing and how we found Blagden! It worked brilliantly but no luck as yet using that method.
gigglingHyena We have stayed on that site for years but it doesn’t have any electric hook up.

Thank you everyone for the other suggestions. Just off for a google now.

Thank you all again. There are a few here that I haven’t tried.
Some are ridiculously priced. One place wanted over £900 for 12 nights.

We stayed here years ago, with toddlers and a free shuttle bus to the beach, one of the best holidays we’ve had

Thank you all again. We have booked onto Home Farm which is a bit further down the coast. (Near Chesil) but looks ideal.

Your help was much appreciated and I will be writing all of the ideas down just incase I need them again. Smile
