In really neat handwriting for someone so annoyed.

I promise that it is not my car, and I did not write the note.

That's not passive aggressive in the slightest Confused

It's polite, clear and informative. Really well written imo.

Hope it's not a one off visitor because they might take offence where none has been given and will dig up the grass, just because they are horrible!

It's not passive aggressive. It's polite but assertive.

That's not passive aggressive, that's an awful lot politer than I would have been!

So don’t park on the grass...

I dunno. If someone said to me,”I’m sure you’re not an ignorant person but...” I’d not take it as polite. It was a darn sight less bad than most of the parking round here.

Could have been a lot worse. Why did you park on the grass?

It’s is pass ag. “I’m sure you’re not an ignorant person” fuck off

“Hi. This grass seed has been newly laid. Please don’t park here again as driving/parking will ruin the seed. Thanks!”

Well, I’d argue that all notes like this are passive aggressive. I mean otherwise what’s the point of writing them at all? If your intention was politeness, you’d not bother writing a note. Grin

If there isn't a sign saying "don't park on the grass" then they may have assumed it was ok to park there, especially if other cars were parked on grass. You can't see grass seed very well unless you are looking for it.

Quite.

Very PA opener.

Perhaps they are ignorant of the grass seed?

Twice people have left notes on my car that were horribly rude and sweary. And both times I was parked exactly between the lines of a proper spot.Confused
The last one was recently at a McDonalds, where I'd taken a few wee ones after a party. A car was parked well over the front of their space, and angled right over the next spot. I managed to get in to the space beside them perfectly between the lines. Off we went.
Came back to the car to a really ranty, outraged, sweary note, calling me a rude fucking c**t and to learn to park properly.
When they looked like they'd parked with a blindfold on!!

I don't think that was PA note by the way, sorry.

I think that's perfectly nicely put and the driver was a twat for parking there.

Polite note - not ' really passive agresssive'

Report
TheRedBarrows · 16/05/2019 17:13

I think it is very ignorant to park on grass seed, newly laid.

The note is trying to be polite but "you have parked on newly laid grass seed on grass which is valued by local residents. Please be more careful in future" would be better.

Under the circumstances l think it was polite. Who parks on grass anyway?! Unless it’s your own lawn but someone else’s is a liberty

Report
RubberTreePlant · 16/05/2019 17:15

I think it is very ignorant to park on grass seed, newly laid.

You can't even say that without knowing a lot more about the area, the driver, the circumstances.

Grass seed is not going to apparent to a motorist and might well just look like an earth verge and therefore preferable to, say, a grass verge.

I agree with the others. That is very direct communication.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 16/05/2019 17:18

I think it is pretty pass agg tbh. And grass seed isn't the least bit obvious, so unless there is a sign or some generally accepted norm in the area that parking there isn't done the author comes across as a bit on an arse.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 16/05/2019 17:18

'of' an arse, not 'on' an arse.

The note is fine and you should take more care about where you park. 🤷‍♀️

Well what the person did was ignorant but that doesn't necessarily mean they are an ignorant person.

So again, straight to the point, polite and giving the driver the benefit of doubt.

I don't think comparing it to worse parking is the way to go, as it sounds as though the bar is pretty low there.

I think it’s utterly toe curling. It sounds like a small child being told off. I’d suggest that ‘Please could you not park on this grass? Many thanks’ would probably suffice in this situation.
