Just me - or common?

My friends looked at me as if I had two heads when don't ask how we got on the subject I said that my nose sometime ran when having a poo. I've since discovered that my dad's does also again don't ask

Is this a quirk in my family or is it surprisingly common?

Please feel free to ask any of your own "just me or common" questions.

I've no idea on that one, but I share an odd (I assume) trait with my mum: when we're really hungry, we start to feel sick and then sneeze, which clears the nausea!

Not heard of it before. My sister’s nose goes numb when she’s drunk though

After eating, or during a large meal, my nose runs and I start sneezing.

This can be very awkward.

Turns out, there's a name for it.

Gustatory rhinitis

A quirk I shared with my late father.

I sneeze when I go from a place that's cold to one that's hot or vice versa.

My feet itch really badly if I have less than two glasses of wine. More than two they're fine.

My mum, one of my DSs and myself all photic sneeze.

Which is a sneeze triggered by bright sunlight or lights in general. The rest of the family all thinks this is weird Grin

I'm sure there was a thread on here about people needing to poo when they go to the library, and it was found to be an actual thing! Grin

I think it’s the smell of real coffee which makes me need to go (in Waterstones, Starbucks etc)

There was a thread not that long ago about people needing to strip when they go for a poo.

I sneeze when going into bright light, particularly from dullness, seems pretty common. Also, eating mint makes me sneeze, particularly polos. But my nose doesn't run when having a poo though.

Thought of another one...I don't need a poo when I go to the library. But when I have a gin & tonic... Grin

Not afflicted with this one, but the women of my family get really sensitive scalps when it's that TOTM. Is this unique to us?

When I drink certain alcohol, my kneecaps get hot and go red. But only in September/October. I did actually see a doctor about it a few years back and he couldn't think of any reason why this would happen and just decided I'm weird it's just one of those things...

I sneeze when I pluck my eyebrows and I cough when using cotton buds in my ears. Seems I'm actually vaguely normal Smile

So glad it's not just me with the ear buds and coughing thing Grin

Plucking my eyebrows makes my stomach dip like a rollercoaster does if it's not done quickly enough.

Sometimes stubbing a toe results in a sharp nerve feeling in my eye Grin
