12.9. If it helps the key is that it’s less than 12.95 (which would round up).

PerkingFaintly · 20/01/2019 20:12

12.9

notasillysausage · 20/01/2019 20:12

12.9
3

GoGoGadgetGin · 20/01/2019 20:12

12.9

TulipsInbloom1 · 20/01/2019 20:12

12.9
X=3

Everytimeref · 20/01/2019 20:12

12.9, it's only the next digit (hundredth) that is considered.

BornInAThunderstorm · 20/01/2019 20:13

X is 3 I think

DangermousesSidekick · 20/01/2019 20:13

Why?
12.9
x=3

Clarissaintheway · 20/01/2019 20:13

and 4/5th of 60?

OP posts:
EhlanaOfElenia · 20/01/2019 20:13

12.9 and x= 3

DangermousesSidekick · 20/01/2019 20:13

48

TulipsInbloom1 · 20/01/2019 20:13

OP it won't help you in the long run us just giving the answers.

DelurkingAJ · 20/01/2019 20:13

BODMAS for your second question, so sort the brackets first.

3x + 6 =15
3x = 9
x = 3

EhlanaOfElenia · 20/01/2019 20:13

Is this YOUR homework?!

WhiteVixen · 20/01/2019 20:13

3(x+2) = 15

X + 2 = 15/3
X + 2 = 5
X = 3

Borntobeamum · 20/01/2019 20:14

4/5 of 60 = 48

Qcng · 20/01/2019 20:14

Y?

Clarissaintheway · 20/01/2019 20:14

Just checking DS's homework. Hes been marked incorrect for 12.9 and for 3!

Thought they were right, was questioning my maths

OP posts:
PerkingFaintly · 20/01/2019 20:14

3(x + 2) = 15

(x + 2) = 15/3

x + 2 = 5

x = 5 - 2

x = 3

Check your working: 3(3 + 2) = 15

CountryPlumpkin · 20/01/2019 20:14

4/5 ths of 60 is 48

Clarissaintheway · 20/01/2019 20:14

Yep he put 48 for the 4/5s too

All three were marked wrong

Books get passed around the class and marked by peers and then scores given to the teacher. DS thought he had done them wrong

hughjackmanswife · 20/01/2019 20:17

Head teacher here...
12.9
X = 3
4/5 of 60 =48

DangermousesSidekick · 20/01/2019 20:18

Pass it back to the teacher and let her work out who marked it wrong. Normally they'd do that together in class so someone was not listening (criminal).
