Gammon, yes, breaded fish is lovely with it.

And chips. Needs chips. Or toasties, if you're pretending to be posh.

My mum often used to do it as an accompaniment to jacket potatoes.

Bacon. Sliced tomatoes. Spinach.

Or put pasta in with it for a mixed macaroni cheese / cauliflower cheese thing.

Cauliflower cheese and fillet steak is a match made in heaven, but I also like it with gammon (joint or steak) or sausages.

I have it with veggie sausages.

Nothing! Put 2 halved boiled eggs per person in before pouring over the sauce. Hey presto a full delicious meal. If you're really hungry add some chopped cooked bacon.

Top tip: allow the cooked cauli to cool in the colander before putting on the dish and adding cheese sauce, or the steam makes your lovely rich sauce watery.

The smaller bunch in our house DD1 will devour it but will do hers with a small amount of sliced sandwhich ham DD3 will think am trying to posion him although hes in nursery so will have a light tea with them so he will have some ham and grated cheese with crackers snack plate type thing.
