I can only think of nightmarish answers.

Does she eat them?

Does she build a castle out of them?

Is it because if a witch gets a part of your body the witch can curse you, and the tooth fairy's job is to keep you safe from that?

The tooth fairy collects them because they hold the child’s memories. At least that’s what happens in Rise of the Guardians smile

She builds a castle out of them 😃

YourMilkshakeIsBetterThanMine Wed 05-Dec-18 08:38:47

She builds her castle out of them so she only wants white, sparkly teeth.

Nettletheelf Wed 05-Dec-18 08:38:48

They carve little toys for fairy children, of course.

(So Enid Blyton reckoned anyway)

I thought they made fairy dust out of them?

HelloViroids Wed 05-Dec-18 08:39:38

I agree she builds a castle. Each shiny tooth is like a brick grin

She puts them in the sky to twinkle amongst the stars, hence why it's important to look after your teeth so she can put your pearly whites up high!

If your child looks carefully they might be able to see their tooth twinkling in the sky.

I had this one and had to think on my feet. I said the tooth fairy turns them into magic tooth dust and sprinkles it on the DC at night to make their big teeth grow.

jessstan2 Wed 05-Dec-18 08:40:42

She makes false teeth for old gnomes.

Trills Wed 05-Dec-18 08:41:07

They hold children's memories?

That's still pretty damn spooky.

I think if I'd believed that as a child I'd have tried to swallow my tooth and keep my memory.

Elfinablender Wed 05-Dec-18 08:41:43

So that the sun rises.

Racecardriver Wed 05-Dec-18 08:44:29

@jessstan2 grin

Trills Wed 05-Dec-18 08:44:59

I thought that the Hogfather had to be killed so that the sun rises?

Claw001 Wed 05-Dec-18 08:45:22

She uses them to spy on children, if they don’t brush their teeth, do their homework, eat their veg, be good and make mum a cup of coffee, she comes back for the rest! grin obviously!

WillChellam Wed 05-Dec-18 08:45:41

This. Is. Actually. A Thing.....

Trills Wed 05-Dec-18 08:46:42

Magic tooth dist sounds sensible, but why is she paying you when she's doing you a service?

I didn't get that follow on question but I think I would have said its to say thank you for keeping your tooth nicely cleaned so that it makes good dust.

3WildOnes Wed 05-Dec-18 08:55:54

She turns them into fairy dust.

LavenderBush Wed 05-Dec-18 08:59:22

It's very creepy, actually, isn't it?

And just think how many she must have by now. Literally millions of other people's teeth.

Bacardi101 Wed 05-Dec-18 09:00:33

My mum used to tell me she took them and gave them to a baby to have thier first tooth!!!

Claw001 Wed 05-Dec-18 09:01:22

She comes into your house, while you are sleeping too!

Elfinablender Wed 05-Dec-18 09:02:44

Hmm, I haven't read it in yonks. Maybe I've misremembered. I'll have to dig it out.

Super123 Wed 05-Dec-18 09:03:22

They make fairy playgrounds with them.

Sitranced Wed 05-Dec-18 10:47:02

Draws dots on them to use as dice. Her favourite game is yahtzee.
