Have you turned your heating back on yet?

I think ours has been off since the beginning of May and we are trying to hold off turning it back on as long as we can but it's getting pretty chilly now so I don't think it'll be much longer!

No way. I refuse to have ours on until we've had a frost for at least two consecutive days Grin it's supposed to be 21 degrees on Thursday. I think when the weather first cools down it always suddenly feels chilly but it's definitely not heating weather for us yet

Nope, we are trying to hold off until at least October! The fleece blankets have come out for the sofa...
Front room has been around 19.5 so not too grim yet.

No...sorely tempted.

I accidentally left my milk on top of the radiator so would have to move that first

No, it’s definitely not cold here.

Yes!
I put mine on for a couple of hours earlier cos it was bloody freezing.
I hate being cold.

Yep! Went on last night but more as a test before it gets really cold. Blankets and hot water bottles are out though...

Mine's been on for a few days now especially in the morning and evening, can't bear being cold, I have scoliosis and it really affects me if I get cold through.

I've just put mine on for the first time - boost for an hour.

Yes, because it was 4 degrees this morning. I don't understand the MN competitiveness about being tough and hardy Hmm

Our heating has a thermostat, so the heating goes on and off according to the temperature, not the calendar.

On for an hour last night to finish off the washing which came in damp. Good to know its all working anyway.

Turned it on briefly yesterday because I was freezing but it's off again now. But we have just lit the woodburner for the first time and morning heating will be a definite thing soon.

Yes! I turned ours on sneakily for the passed few days.
Today DH brushed passed the radiator and announced in horror that the heating was on!

No cold enough where I am yet, but we have just move din somewhere without a tumble drier so it may need to go on soon to finish washing off. My mum. Is coming to look after DC this weekend and will prob have it cranked right up

Ours has been on a while now. I'm freezing, got my blanket out as well. Chilly September nights with a sleeping toddler, heating on, my blanket out, telly on and a few drinks are brilliant. When dh is home it's even better, perfect in fact.

Nope, not yet. Our flat stays pretty warm - currently saying 23 degrees. It was great in the snow as I think we only put it on a handful of times.

Not so great in a heatwave when the flat was permanently 32 degrees. We’ve not got the duvet out yet, still just the bedspread.

Ours went on this morning.

I'm not tough and hardy, just poor Grin also we have storage heaters (no mains gas) so can't just pop them on for an hour, hence why it needs to be consistently cold before it goes on.

itsbritneybiatches · 23/09/2018 19:45

Had it on for a couple of hours on Thursday or Friday. Not since

Is this the annual thread where someone has to say “I don’t believe in hearing. I last put it on in the winter of 1962 and that was only because of the Cold War”.

Report

Storage heaters are a pain aren't they. We once had a holiday let that had stroage heaters, and the heating came on during the day when we were out and was off in the evening when we needed it. There were no instructions in the apartment. Fortunately the weather suddenly became hot and we could just switch them off.
