Followers on Twitter were quick to points out Hopkins’ 2014 tweet criticising people with debt problems.

The tweet read: “The only thing people in debt have in common other than bad money management, is an ability to blame anyone but themselves.”

She hasn't filed for bankruptcy, she's managed to swerve it with an IVA.
Jack Monroe who irks me, but not as much as Katie Hopkins was paid her 24k but the 107k due to her lawyers wasn't paid.

How many come backs does the come back queen have in her though?
She might be poison now that one libel case has stuck and the papers may be a bit wary of her now that she has sustained a blow.

Shockers I agree but I think an accident is one thing, being consistently nasty and unkind is another kettle of fish.
How is it possible to avoid unpleasantness when it is your stock in trade and really the only thing you are any good at.
It always comes back to you if you goad people in such a public way.
And I doubt she will learn. That kind of thick is very special

And as others have said, she has kept her bum just short of bankruptcy but she had to sell her house.
