Pudding that will stay cooking for picnic

Is this too much to hope for? I’m doing a picnic on Monday even8ng and the weather looks grim. We will be under cover. I thought of soup to start. But what about a hot pudding? I’ve got a great S African equivalent to a hay box that I can keep things slowly cooking in.

Any suggestions? I normally do a variant on Eton Mess but I think it’s going to be too cold.

Some sort of crumble that can be kept warm and then custard in a thermos??

How about a rice pudding? If you can start it off first the rice should cook ok. I've had a nice one with coconut milk and apricot which might be a nice twist.

I could do rice pudding, the only rice pudding I like is the one I cook and perhaps with apricots, in coconut milk, with nutmeg it might be nice. And yes, I think a deconstructed crumble is the way to go. Sloshier than usual fruit in a thermos, help yourself to crumble and custard. It’s the way I now do Eton mess , DIY.

Thank you.
