For me this was 30 and im now 40. Good old hair dye to cover it grin was still a shock tho

ModreB Fri 10-Aug-18 23:41:19

I ws about 16yo when I started going grey. I coloured my hair for years, and just about 18 months ago stopped. It has actually taken years off me as per other peoples opinion grin

Now approaching 50 and have spectacular white streaks. Can't wait to get fully white. I shall be Prof McGonigal.

Embrace the natural silver highlights - you earnt them! grin

I started getting greys at 18, only in one place at the front though hmm. If I left it to grow now I would look like cruelly de vil.

😁 cruella!

21. Late 30s now and my roots are ridiculously grey when they grow in now.

DorothyGarrod Fri 10-Aug-18 23:45:01

This week, I’m 39. Think I will leave them, I’ve never dyed my hair and I’m not going to start.

About 24 for me. Just a few in my parting, but definitely there. I'm 41 now and I know I have more, but it's hard to just tell how many as I colour my hair.

Darkestnight Fri 10-Aug-18 23:47:27

Some of you were quite young to get grey hair. But got to admit grey looks really good on some ladys. Or should i say silver as my friend calls it.

Catquest1 Fri 10-Aug-18 23:48:34

Properly noticed? This year. I'm 40 towards the end of the year. But ive had the odd one or 2 for a few years

CurlyWurlyTwirly Fri 10-Aug-18 23:49:36

Odd one in my 30s. More about 40.
This year I an growing out lowlights and letting the white hairs do their thing. I’m 48 now & like pp, I’ve earned the grey hair!

longtompot Fri 10-Aug-18 23:53:47

I found my first grey at 16. I have more now, but its been quite slow appearing. I'd rather have proper grey hair now and be done with dying it all the time.

Snoopychildminder Fri 10-Aug-18 23:53:55

I was young, maybe 19? 20?

I was just like my dad, really thick head of hair but patches of grey, from a early age.
I have a streak of grey hairs right at the front of my head hmm
We used to call my dad a badger because he had grey and white stripes on the back of his head hahaha
I just regularly dye my hair every 6-8 weeks but at some point I will just give in to nature. And I’m told hipsters deliberately dye their hair grey now so apparently it’s cool!

Noticed my first white hair three years ago at 30. Perhaps coincidentally, this coincided with the start of my teaching career. Have a few now, but not so many I need to dye my hair yet!

Katedotness1963 Sat 11-Aug-18 02:58:02

Odd ones in my 30's. 55 now and suddenly I have the Mallen streak happening. I didn't notice it coming and now I've this huge grey streak...

Fatted Sat 11-Aug-18 03:00:42

Early/mid 20's. I'm 37 now and it's growing in Salt and pepper coloured. I hate colouring it, but hate it's not being fully grey yet and CBA paying for highlights/lowlights to blend it all just now.

First one in my fringe at 21, never dyed my hair just let it do its own thing.

Its now ash blond and thankfully I love it and do get lots of compliments about it.

Embrace your grey/white/silver!

I have a few grey hairs now - i'm 43. My Dad was only half grey when he died at 61.

AtlantaGinandTonic Sat 11-Aug-18 04:44:59

28, just after DD1 was born. DH actually noticed and pointed it out! It's more white than grey, which makes sense as my maternal grandmother has white hair.

Late teens

Yogafailure Sat 11-Aug-18 05:55:56

I have white, not even grey, hairs in my graduation photos at the grand old age of 21 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I wish I'd never started dying my natural hair colour as now I'd love to be a silver/grey fox not yet 50 like my cousin is.

BertieBotts Sat 11-Aug-18 06:00:05

25 I found the first one. I didn't think it would bother me at all but I was really shocked and a bit upset!

I'm 30 now and you still can't notice so they don't bother me any more.

DinosApple Sat 11-Aug-18 07:05:27

I've had one or two from my mid 20s. I'm in my mid 30s now and it is noticeable, especially as my hair is very dark.

I'm not bothered about dying it. Roots would show quickly, and I'm not particularly on it with beauty maintenance.
