...is Sunshine on Leith.

Ain't it so gorgeous?

angelican Thu 19-Jul-18 18:38:14

Yes! Definitely one of my desert island discs

"While I'm worth my room on this earth....."

Yes, DS2 was born to that album.

Songbird by Fleetwood Mac has always been one of my favourites.

Witchita Lineman takes some bearing.

ParkheadParadise Thu 19-Jul-18 18:55:00

Yes, totally agree with you OP

earlybirdhasanap Thu 19-Jul-18 18:55:29

It's one of my favourite songs.

AnnDerry Thu 19-Jul-18 19:04:17

@Bookridden

Witchita Lineman takes some beating.

Oh I agree - something about it which is just heartbreakingly lovely -. It is totally rooted in a particular location and time, and yet universal. It makes me cry.

NetballHoop Thu 19-Jul-18 19:10:52

My go to song is Will You by Hazel O'Connor : vimeo.com/27626746

Staralfur by Sigur Ros. Walked down the aisle to it. Beautiful.

The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams. Pure English rural bliss. If I was ever stuck in a Thai prison or lost in the Amazonian rainforest then this piece of music could instantly transport me to a benign English field in summer.

Some Elbow songs are pretty stunning, especially Magnificent. It is indeed magnificent smile

Bookridden Thu 19-Jul-18 19:12:50

@AnnDerry - yes, exactly. So melancholy s and it feels timeless.

strawberrypig Thu 19-Jul-18 19:25:20

I totally agree, the film, Sunshine on Leith, is one my favourite of all time as well.

chickenpineapple Thu 19-Jul-18 19:27:08

Agreed!

gnarlington Thu 19-Jul-18 19:35:16

Walking on Air by Ben Ottewell, beautiful song

CoolCarrie Thu 19-Jul-18 19:39:22

The film Sunshine On Leith is better than Mamma Mia and bloody La La Land put together imho!

Phosphorus Thu 19-Jul-18 19:42:52

Cassiel's Song by Nick Cave.

Or The Night Will Always Win by Elbow.

Knittedfairies Thu 19-Jul-18 19:43:20

I’ll throw ‘ Little things mean a lot’ by Little shoes big voice into the mix.

@NetballHoop. Yes!

You drink your coffee and I sip my tea.

Vitalogy Thu 19-Jul-18 20:03:04

That's the first time I've heard that song OP, just listened to it, very nice.

There are so many to pick from but this one came into my mind The Sound of Silence - Disturbed

QuitMoaning Sat 21-Jul-18 20:18:35

@Vitalogy The Disturbed version is, dare I say it, better than the original. Only know a few of their songs but David’s voice is fabulous and him singing sound of silence makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Vitalogy Sat 21-Jul-18 20:42:13

@QuitMoaning I agree about this version and the hairs smile
