Playing games in the rain...

Popped up on the radio this morning on my drive to work. Add your 90's Brit-poppy summer tunez grin

Blur - country house
Oasis - Roll with it

Remember the big chart battle being hyped up in the press all week and we traveled to Devon on the Saturday for a family holiday - they played the songs back to back on the hour every hour (it was a 6 hour journey) ready for the charts the next day! 1995!! Can’t remember who came out on top though 😂

I can't remember either? confused

I used to work in a care home and every Friday night at 6pm we'd get everyone settled so we could watch TFI Friday and listen to the opening credits.. Ocean Colour Scene grin

FiestyCherry, according to Absolute Radio 90s earlier, Blur won that battle ;)

FiestyCherry Wed 13-Jun-18 21:51:11

I will sleep well tonight knowing that 😂

I have the TFI Friday album in my car...brings back lots of memories!!!

Another one is Reef Lay your hands

goforkyourself Wed 13-Jun-18 21:56:05

Oh I remember Reef well .. Kula Shaker were great too, I ordered their album from Britannia blush

Hookedoncatnip Wed 13-Jun-18 21:56:30

The day we caught the train - Ocean Colour Scene "oh oh la la, oh oh la la"

Hookedoncatnip Wed 13-Jun-18 21:58:03

I was just thinking Kula Shaker too. They replaced Placebo at (I think) V Festival one year and were really good.

goforkyourself Wed 13-Jun-18 22:13:24

Just for you cherry

Cast's 'Alright' was my favourite 90s Indie track!

Weren’t those just the best days?!

Sevendown Thu 14-Jun-18 00:44:31

I liked some supergrass

Johnnycomelately1 Thu 14-Jun-18 06:10:46

I cannot listen to Big Mountain "Baby I love your Way" due to working in a soap factory and almost going catatonic with boredom that summer, whilst listening to that song played about 3 times an hour on the radio.

lastnamefirstfirstnamelast Thu 14-Jun-18 06:19:06

Yes yes to supergrass, in fact to all of these! There are loads of songs that remind me of different summers
-corrine bailey rae -put your records on (06) -fresh prince - summertime (91)
-waiting all night - Rudimental (12/13)

lastnamefirstfirstnamelast Thu 14-Jun-18 06:19:46

And I'm sorru they aren't brit pop! I just love summer tunes!! Xx

ZenNudist Thu 14-Jun-18 06:31:12

Not Britpop but 00s 'Dancin in the moonlight'. It was the song played on my trip round Eirope when i was 21. I always loved it.

Also Outkast 'Hey Ya'

Mybabystolemysanity Thu 14-Jun-18 06:34:29

Garbage... Again, not all British. The lead singer was on Woman's Hour the other week

Scribblegirl Thu 14-Jun-18 06:40:59

Suede - Trash is one of my favourite britpop songs (if I ignore pretty much the entirety of Pulp and Blur’s back catalogue wink)

I was born in ‘89 and got into Britpop around ‘04 - feel like I was born too late and missed out, but at the same time delighted I never had to pick between them grin

Here’s the track listing of the TFI Friday Album, brings back loads of memories for me and great for the commute to work
