Car hire in Australia - help!!!

Having real problems finding appropriate rental cars for our trip to Oz this year, for example from Uluru to Alice Springs via Kings Canyon, and also another car from Darwin to Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks.
However, all the rental companies we have looked at seem to have limited distance of 300km per rental period which is incredibly stingy! After the 300 they charge around 27 cents per extra km.
Does anyone know of a car rental company that doesn't do this, please?

Hi Goat
Because the distances between places in the NT and huge and there isn't exactly much competition at places like Uluru , the Car Hire companies stiff you for limited KMs because they can make extra money off you.
However if you contact the NT Visitors information Centres and book through them , they can usually get you an unlimited KM deal with those very same companies.
Try www.tourismtopend.com.au/car-4wd-campervanhire

Good luck !

Thanks very much - we will try that! I suspected it was something to do with being fleeced!
