Black bits from washing machine

I used a machine black dye in my washing machine a month ago. Since then there have been black gunge stuck to washing. Only notice it on whites.

I've tried everything to clean it. Scrubbed all the seal inside and out. The drawer and inside the drawer. Used sofa crystals, detox washing machine cleaner, white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.

And still it's happening. Machine 3 years old.

I can't see where the black is coming from.

Any ideas?

Have you taken out the filter and cleaned that as well (assuming it has one)?

Have you tried running a 90degree wash, no wash liquid/powder? Cleaned the filter? Run a bleach wash?

Oh haven't done bottom filter!

Will do that next.

Have done a 90 degree empty and with soda crystals and with towels.

Wasn't sure about bleach, thought it might wreck the seal?

good luck with the bottom filter, last time I cleaned mine it was rank! Be prepared for some water leaking out when you undo it.

Spent yesterday running various 3 hour 90 degree washes

One of white vinegar and bicarbonate and then next with bleach.

Done a white wash today and no black bits.

Filter was clean.

So fingers crossed that is it.

Have bought some calagon tablets and old fashioned washing powder to use so hopefully stop it from happening again
