i have just bought a lovely watch but the strap is too long! it's similar to this nixon watch. online instructions seem easy but has anyone done similar and have advice? or should i take it to the watch repair shop

Take it to a jewellers or similar. The strap looks like it's acrylic or ceramic- both of which are prone to cracking.

It shouldn't cost much more than £5.

You can use a pin or similar to push out the teeny tiny pins connecting it together, take out the links you don't want then just push the pins back in grin

Thank you both I tried the pin and it didn't work so took it to jewellers who did it for 2.50
