WindyBee Sat 26-May-18 20:20:09

I love looking at that!

Were forecasted tomorrow (north wales)

Inapickled Sat 26-May-18 20:20:43

Love this

KindergartenKop Sat 26-May-18 20:20:50

I didn't know the maps existed until I joined mn. I'm not sure why, but I'm definitely glad I know about them.

WhatMakesYouHappy Sat 26-May-18 20:23:05

The forecast for tomorrow looks mad! I've never seen 12 solid hours of lightning forecast, what's going on?!

PinkBuffalo Sat 26-May-18 20:27:29

That's so cool! I've never heard of lightning maps!

Dolceandgabbana14 Sat 26-May-18 20:30:19

Love watching storms in this app. What do the lines mean? Haven't got them on mine!

Watto1 Sat 26-May-18 20:30:42

I've got a flight to catch from Cardiff airport at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning. Really don't fancy it with thunderstorms forecast. Normally I love a good storm but not when I have to fly through one!

SoWakeUp Sat 26-May-18 20:31:42

Fantastic. Thank you OP for sharing

FlibbertyGiblets Sat 26-May-18 20:52:51

Oh I'd forgotten this. Thank you!

PistFump Sat 26-May-18 21:37:19

Love lightning maps!! 🌩 another one wondering what the green & blue lines mean?

DanFmDorking Sat 26-May-18 21:48:41

If you 'hover' over the white info squares at the top of the screen they will give some more info.

The colour of the lines depends on the distance (close: green, medium: blue, far: red). Note that the angle spanned station is also important. Distances up to a few 100km and stations on every side of the t-storm give best results.

I'm in Cardiff I hope we get a corker of a show.

CrispbuttyNo1 Sat 26-May-18 21:55:50

I’m in okehampton, Devon.. sat watching it all at me bedroom window. The rain earlier was so heavy, each raindrop felt like a cup of water when I ran to the car!

DanFmDorking Sat 26-May-18 22:26:51

T-storm in Kent now!

Jjacobb Sat 26-May-18 22:54:23

I'm watching from my bed, I'm in Portsmouth. It's constant. Beautiful to watch and weird that it's so quiet.

Jjacobb Sat 26-May-18 23:07:17

The thunders starting now. I love a good storm.
DD and I just went for a quick walk, it's so warm out.

BasiliskStare Sat 26-May-18 23:14:15

We've just had it full over head but it sounds like it is moving off now- Love a good storm. Hope God had got his furniture sorted out ( my grandmother used to tell me - nothing to worry about Basilisk , it is just God moving his furniture about.

Lonelycrab Sat 26-May-18 23:16:46

Couple of big strikes towards the Isle of Wight just now. I get a bit scared when they get too closeblush

tectonicplates Sat 26-May-18 23:21:24

It's reached London. Such a lot of lightening all in a row! So dramatic!

SageYourResoluteOracle Sat 26-May-18 23:40:56

Yay! It's reached north Surrey. Love it! I'm lying in bed with the curtains open so I can watch. I've not seen such rapid successive flashes like thus before- it's almost a strobe effect! And oh! The rain! Bloody Nora!

tectonicplates Sat 26-May-18 23:43:20

We've also got the curtains open here. I've never seen lightening go on for this long before, and it's so bright!

tectonicplates Sat 26-May-18 23:44:54
