Spa day - is it “sad”...

If I go alone?

Was given a spa day gift and I’ve never been to a spa, but thought it was more for couples?

Not sad at all . Take a book and have a lovely relaxing time .

God no, sounds lovely. Take a good book and chill ou.

Oh no, I’d happily go alone. Get some magazines or bring a good book. Bath, swim, then lounge in your robe and read. Followed by nice lunch. Sounds lovely.

Not sad at all. It’s decadent and luxurious and classy to go alone!

No it’s bliss. Take a pile of magazines, a good book and enjoy. Sometimes it’s nice not to have to talk to others and only think about yourself.

Nope. I plan on doing that for my birthday this year- I turn 40 and have booked the day off work.

Not at all. Going alone is lovely. Need to choose carefully though. My best ever spa day was at a tiny spa which only had capacity for 4 customers at a time but I was the only one there as it was midweek. It was perfect. Another time was at a hotel which had several large families with loud small children using the swimming pool right next to the spa area and it really wasn't relaxing.

Nope do it all the time.

Not sad at all, have a lovely day

I'd rather go alone than with a group. Very relaxing!

Most certainly not, go for it.

Was given a voucher and friend who also had one suggested we go together. Her daughter also came. The whining, winging 'make me the centre of attention' daughter (28) ruined the experience for all of us, I wish i'd used my voucher to go alone.

Enjoy the peace and relax.

I find it preferable - I can go where I want when I want, read, relax, snooze and not feel as if I have to talk......in other words make some time just for me

Alicatz66 Sat 26-May-18 08:10:36

I've been on my own. It was fine .. but like a previous poster said. .. find s nice upscale small one and book in plenty of treatments .. take a good book .. have a glass of bubbles.. have fun x

I prefer it! Peace and quiet and free to do exactly what I want when I want!

Nottalotta Sat 26-May-18 08:18:42

Not sad at all! Sounds blissful.

Last year my mil paid for me to go to a swanky one alone. Best 4 hours of the last year and a half- easily!

Alienspaceship Sat 26-May-18 08:24:36

I’d much rather go alone.

I've just got the idea from another thread actually. Week before I go back to work from maternity leave I am having a night by myself in a spa hotel. Lie in, massage and reading books smile
Haven't told DP yet but he loves a bit of boy bonding time with DSgrin

Lots of people go alone. It's great. Go!

StrugglingMumma Sat 26-May-18 10:37:06

I went to a weekday spa a couple of months ago, there were loads of people visiting on their own. Genius idea if you ask me! I would definitely go on my own. Enjoy!

SporkInTheToaster Sat 26-May-18 10:41:59

No, go alone. Much more soothing than going as part of a group where you have to interact in swimwear. Alone you can just relax and switch off.

Babymamamama Sat 26-May-18 10:46:06

I go every year on my birthday. It's my guilty pleasure. Day off work and total peace and relaxation.

So envious.

I always go alone ( ok that makes it sound like I go a lot, I don’t!)

It’s absolute heaven.
