Question for home carers/personal healthcare assistants

Would you recommend this as a job? It would be on a one to one basis, not a multiple visit elderly care type thing.

I’m currently doing nursing, but am totally fed up and would like a change. The job would involve caring for a young child with disabilities in their own home and be part of a small team.

Would anybody with experience be able to tell me what it’s like working on this basis and would you recommend it?

I run my own company as a carer. We do multi visits but honestly love it

I think I would be directly employed by the family, so would I receive any holiday pay?

If the family were to employ you then you would get the standard 28 days. I personally wouldn't want to be sole carer for somebody as there is nobody to support you. Care work is very emotionally draining as well as physically.
