Hi, when driving the car or cooking in the kitchen or any number of mundane tasks - I usually have the radio on. But I'd prefer to listen to a podcast. Does anyone have any good recommendations please?
The only one I've ever listened to is Serial and loved it. Just went on my iPad Podcasts app and there were so many it's slightly overwhelming!
Thank you.

If you liked Serial then try:

S Town
Dirty John
Atlanta Monster
Up and Vanished
Accused

More lighthearted but the funniest thing I've listened to is My Dad Wrote a Porno.

Missing Richard Simmons
Bryony Gordon's Mad World
Walking the Dog
Beautiful Anonymous

All Interesting and thought provoking.

Casefile is brilliant.

GrimDamnFanjo Mon 21-May-18 00:45:16

I listen to the Woman's Hour omnibus, last podcast on the left, Answer Me This, Casefile, will try and find my playlist.

GeneandFred Mon 21-May-18 02:20:37

Answer me this is fab.

RedDwarves Mon 21-May-18 02:24:13

Casefile recommendation from me, also.

RedDwarves Mon 21-May-18 02:25:21

Black Hands is a good one too, and Shattered: Black Friday. Both true crime podcasts, but they're in a series style, unlike Casefile which addresses a different case every episode (or thereabout).

Op did you know there is now a whole board here just on podcasts? It's with telly addicts and film.

I recommend Death in Ice Valley which is currently going out. West Cork is great but is only available on audible at the moment.

I love Radiolab and This America Life (and there's a massive archive of both, just in case your appetite is as voracious as mine)

Also The Moth (people telling stories).

halfgirlhalfturnip Mon 21-May-18 04:51:22

I second This American Life and the Moth, add Desert Island Discs and love Fortunately. Enjoyed Serial too.

Crusoe Mon 21-May-18 06:45:53

Definitely Casefile
Generation Why
The Vanished
Missing Maura Murray
This American Life
Serial
Dirty John
Unconcluded: Jennifer Kesse
True Crime Brewery
Thin Air
The Trail Went Cold
Insight

I love podcasts especially true crime!

gubbinsy Mon 21-May-18 08:49:33

I've really enjoyed Dolly Aldertons's Love Stories

ProzacAndWine Mon 21-May-18 08:59:05

I'm listening to Missing Maura Murray right now. A change from the true crime podcasts that concentrate on something new every week. Very in depth and interesting, in my opinion. It's interesting to see my own opinion of what happened change all the time with the hosts.

lostinsunshine Mon 21-May-18 09:09:44

S Town is fantastic.

bonfireheart Mon 21-May-18 17:36:06

tobee I didn't know that, thank you! Started listening to Dirty John last night but got a bit scared!

BalaBrith Mon 21-May-18 17:37:02

Another vote for My Dad Wrote a Pornogrin

lucysnowe Mon 21-May-18 18:09:13

It's really weird how many true crime podcasts there are!

I love Answer me This!, Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, and a lot of film ones, Mayo and Kermode, Filmspotting, the Next Picture Show etc.

lookingforbutterflies Mon 21-May-18 19:04:21

Criminology is good too!

NymanPerkins Mon 21-May-18 19:17:08

I second Death in Ice Valley. Very well done and engaging.
