Hidey hole for money at home?

Does anybody have any good hiding places for stashing money in their bedroom?

It's mainly for my holiday Euro's stash, which I am adding to as I go along.
I've been leaving them locked in my desk at work but as they mount up, I'd rather take them home.

I've seen a fake hairbrush on Amazon, but I'm likely to lose that. And I've got other valuables that wouldn't fit in one.

A safe is the obvious thing but wouldn't a burglar go straight for it?

Any novel ideas? smile

I don't think it's the wisest idea to post best hiding places for money on the internet.

Inside a pack of XL sanitary towels. No one steals those although if there was a fire.....

You can get really inexpensive safes now for money with keys etc

Why not just in your underwear drawer?
Are you particularly anxious about being burgled?
I don’t get why it has to be hidden in a novel way and not just put in a safe place confused

I know but I didn't know how to ask the question without asking the question IYSWIM. Luckily Chat is only up for 90 days.

Interesting I just stash cash in a gift box I was given which makes a nice inconspicuous display. Do you have shoes or boots you won't really wear? Could fill your boots with the cashgrin. Under a bedside drawer unit if there is a gap/space underneath. May require effort to lift and slide cash under. Think least likely place a burglar would look is the bathroom or under kitchen sink.

I'm a fan of hiding stuff behind the kickboards in the kitchen but never do as I work have valuable stuff worth the effort.

Because most safe places are the obvious ones. It's not just money, I have sentimental valuables that could never be replaced.

I supposed going with the key lock safe if the best idea.

Buy a litter tray. Put money inside a plastic bag and seal. Fill tray with cat litter and add a fake turd.

NetballHoop Thu 26-Apr-18 16:37:36

Stick it in a sealed bag in the freezer.

That's a fab idea! It was worth asking after all grin

I hide them in my knicker drawer. But DH spotted my rifling through my 50's the other day so I need to find a new spot. In a pack of sanitary towels maybe?

Who are you hiding it from?

Would you not just put it in the bank?

HouseworkIsASin10 Thu 26-Apr-18 16:40:55

OdileDeCaray I like that one, should be easy enough to install.

OdileDeCaray Thu 26-Apr-18 16:41:01

How about this.

Charley50 Thu 26-Apr-18 16:42:33

@OdileDeCaray - lol at litter tray. And the pic is genius.

HouseworkIsASin10 Thu 26-Apr-18 16:42:41

raffle I'm not the best saver, money burns a hole in my pocket. So rather than trying to save cash in the bank, I have been buying up Euro's as and when I can.

HouseworkIsASin10 Thu 26-Apr-18 16:44:17

How about this.

Odile That's genius.

LuluJakey1 Thu 26-Apr-18 16:47:27

We were burgledand they emptied tampn boxes in the bathroom, went through the kitchen cupboards and emptied out bags of flour, rice, pasta, dried cat food. They tipped out all of our drawers and emptied wardrobes. The police said they had been in the house for a long time.

RoxytheRexy Thu 26-Apr-18 16:55:27

I’ve heard drug dealers use paint tins
