DD would never forgive me if I don't do a party bag of her own, she's 7.

Hell no. And neither do their siblings in this house. No one has died yet.

Homemenu1 Mon 23-Apr-18 21:03:48

It depends if there is spare

BakerBear Mon 23-Apr-18 21:03:51

Party bags are for the guests

I always do and I’ve never really thought about it. Doesn’t seem any more effort!

Korg Mon 23-Apr-18 21:07:15

Of course they do! Would be very unfair not to. When they were little I loved choosing lovely things for the party bags and now I just make up a nice selection of sweets I know they’ll enjoy, of course I do this for my own children as well as other people’s confused

Mine might get some of what’s spare that I bought to put in the party bags. Otherwise they can just enjoy the balloons and left over cake

dementedpixie Mon 23-Apr-18 21:10:11

Yes mine used to get one as did their sibling

My little ones would be heartbroken to be left out of what they consider to be the best but of any party. What lesson do you think you are teaching them by only giving one to guests? You can still tell them the bags are to thank the guests without making them miss out.

All the children who are invited to the party and attend get a party bag, including birthday child.

Party child and party childs siblings always end up getting a few of the spares of everything before the party and then we always make extra party bags incase extra kids show and people who were meant to be comming dont come so they end up with spare party bags after the part as well

Whatififall Mon 23-Apr-18 21:17:05

I always do one for DD too

minipie Mon 23-Apr-18 21:21:21

I always make a few extra and so far they've not all been used so DCs have got one.

minipie Mon 23-Apr-18 21:23:17

Also how do you count the party child's sibling - if they count as a guest and get a party bag, then it's pretty tough not to give the birthday child one as their sibling has one!

JesusInTheCabbageVan Mon 23-Apr-18 21:26:20

God, yes! As a pp pointed out, it's the best bit of the party. What would be the point of excluding them?

NotTakenUsername Mon 23-Apr-18 21:28:14

It’s a yes from us too!

EnglishGirlApproximately Mon 23-Apr-18 21:28:16

Ds would never forgive me if he didn’t get a party bag, he’d rather have the bit of plastic tat and the sweet than the actual party!

SomeKnobend Mon 23-Apr-18 21:30:53

Yeah they love it. I always make loads up so any siblings coming with parents to pick the child up can have one too.

TokyoSushi Mon 23-Apr-18 21:31:56

Yes, it would never cross my mind not to!

AliceLutherNeeMorgan Mon 23-Apr-18 21:36:37

Definitely! Mine always chose which bits she had in hers too grin

niknac1 Mon 23-Apr-18 21:41:55

Whenever we’ve done them everyone has has one including birthday child and sibling. Now they are older I don’t think I’ll bother so much with anyone getting one but I haven’t done that yet.

Elflocks Mon 23-Apr-18 21:43:15

Yes, it is all part of the fun.

Caulk Mon 23-Apr-18 21:44:04

No, because in my mind the bag is to take the cake home (and they will have cake here) and for a ballon and toy. They have all their birthday gifts

AlwaysDancing1234 Mon 23-Apr-18 21:45:07

Yes definitely! DS would prefer a party bag to cake any time!
