I know I shouldn't have done it. I am naturally anxious and now I'm convinced I have cancer and won't sleep.

Ok what are your symptoms. Lots of symptoms can be present for a variety of conditions.. And don't forget, if Google was so accurate, medical degrees would not be required. We and Google can really get it wrong without other background knowledge

Tell us your symptoms and we'll talk you out of it!

It's a scabby spot in my ear. Convinced it's a mole.

I had a scabby lump on my ear. It went black. Bad news for a mole... Cancer. Turned out to be a scab that fell off. Chances are that if it's in your ear you can't properly examine it under bright light, haven't looked at it closely before so don't know if it's changed. Just get it checked out and put your mind at rest x

Scabby ears spots are usually just that Slightly scabby spots. Ears are more prone to spots being a tad gunky than other more open parts of body.

Thanks. I think I need to turn off all internet access and try and calm down. Trying to contort myself into odd angles to see it properly.

Take a photo of it. You know that cancer is very seldom found in the ear like that. It's very seldom found as a scab, too. Please try to be reasonable about it, OP. You're worrying about nothing.

I have loads of moles... None are malignant. Some go scabby so I have them checked but in nearly 50 years not one has started out as a scab that I can remember.

She’s right.

I had a chronic condition misdiagnosed three times for exactly that reason. And all worked out not too bad in the end.

Even doctors struggle, there’s no way you’ll get it right.

Stay calm and make an appointment.

If you really want to ruin your supper google “harmless skin growths” and look at the lovely images 😉
